From the days when we had a Merchant Navy. The Captain and Chief Engineer were always arguing as to who's job was more important. To settle this they agreed that on leaving port they would swap places.

After a couple of hours the Captain rang the Chief Engineer from the engine room and said "Okay you win, I can't get the main engine to start." The Chief Engineer replied "No need to worry, we've been aground for more than three hours."
