Motorbikes

Never had issues with my superdream wheels either to be honest
when we got married it was our only form of transport , did well over 40K miles with only regular servicing apart from the generator went, the only time I’ve actually been broken down and had to push a bike home

Yeah I saw that so will wait a bit - I was going to ask about sizing anyway!
Shame for you, but something to look forward to come spring?

Ours haven't arrived yet. Had the order received e-mail and the order says it's free express delivery. Both sizes were allegedly in stock when I ordered.

Ended up buying a jacket which is good but not actually much use for working in but I shall keep it for weekend/evening wearing. Have sent the too small gilet back and got the replacement one today which will be excellent for working in as it doesn't restrict arm movement.

The power banks seem to be pretty good and will be useful for other things too!

@stevewestern Seem to be all back in stock now.

@Nod Did yours arrive ok and are you happy with them?

Yup, ours arrived a couple of days ago. Mine (XXL) is a bit snug but I can move properly and breathe in it so it'll be fine and Mrs Nod's (S) is perfect. As you say, the power banks seem OK so I'll use mine for golf for a few rounds to see how well it lasts before trusting it on the bike.

out on the bike monday...can not wait, i was actually going to use the opportunity to go out with the camera, but a couple of mates are coming now so i always feel a bit of a tit with them waiting whilst i take shots so il probably bin the idea of taking the camera for another day

My first ride of the year, weather permitting, will be tomorrow. The weather has been so rainy or icy of late I've only done errands when necessary so a good rideout will cheer me up no end.

Mine are now off the road for the winter and also do some servicing and odd jobs on them

Yesterday a friend and I (he's currently riding a rather lovely CCM) took out a couple of Harleys, courtesy of the lovely guys over at Watford Harley-Davidson. It's immediately adjacent to North London Triumph and both dealerships are actually fantastic. Well done, Lind.

Anyway, the bikes were a Sports Glide with a Stage 1 upgrade to its 1750cc 107 Milwaukee-Eight engine; and a Fat Bob, with an 1870cc 114 Milwaukee-Eight. Both were absolute beasts, though, with the kind of torque that literally has you hanging on for dear life when you give them a little more throttle than "normal". In fact, the upgraded 107 engine would have been boosted by about 10% and - if anything - delivered its power more smoothly than the standard 114.

This was the first time I'd ever ridden a Harley, and whilst the Fat Bob did nothing for me I was blown away by the Sports Glide... what a bike, albeit it's just been replaced by the Low Rider ST with it's 1920cc 117 engine. Getting back on the Tiger later in the day was a totally weird experience, and I was genuinely struggling to find the rear brake lever for a few minutes (which genuinely felt like someone had actually moved it into a different position altogether). This morning, both my legs are really aching too :)

Well, having posted this back in April I went on to pick up a beautiful Stage 2 Sport Glide FLSB with very little mileage on the clock. 1750cc of American muscle, and I'm loving it!

bit cold on the finger tips, and a mate on his old GPZ felt the roads were a bit slippy...but i enjoyed todays ride 179 (s)miles, decent breakfast at the ponderosa cafe, not much traffic,no holdups and no problems from heddlu ...result ...looking forward to the next break in the weather

Not usually a raffle entrant but when I opened my BSH, there was a pad of tickets for the National Motorcycle Museum with a new BSA Gold Star as top prize, a 175 Bantam Bushman as 2nd prize with a Sealey tool cabinet as 3rd. The real clincher though was that the pad I received has ticket number 0666666 in it! Not for the Old Nick number as much as it being the phone number of the cab company we use to take us to the airport!

Heated gilet.

What a wonderful addition to the riding gear.

Ours took a while to arrive, despite the site telling me that both sizes were in stock. Mrs Nod's S one fits her perfectly and my XXL fits me almost too well - it's quite snug! However, the snugness is just round the body - the armholes are plenty big enough to allow me to golf in it. The only problem was that it kept me too warm! Having warmed me up, the reflective inner kept all the heat in so I got a little sweaty. Will be fine when there's no real exertion going on!!!

this is the bike I use for going out with the camera, boxes are perfect for the camera gear and then I just put my leathers in the boxes and ready to go (picture from the summer)

nice day today perfect for a service on the brakes and clutch, changed the fluids

I loved my Bandit, until I crashed it. Mine was an X reg, 600, with carbs. Flames out the back was a common occurence. Even when I sold it, just about 3 years ago, it had just over 13,000 miles on it.

Just about a month later, it looked like this.....

Helmet did its job, probably the best money I've ever spent.....

Oops! Hope you got a decent pay-out from the insurance. Bandits seem to be popular among the chop builders!

oh no hope you was ok afterwards

Thanks....it hurt, my wrist was black and blue and I have no recollection of falling, going along the ground and coming to stop. First thing I remember is cars pulling over and people running to help. I had a headache for over a week. Only blood involved was from a grazed chin.

I still don't remember the fall or anything after that until I was helped back to my feet.

My bike hit the left post of the sign and I was in the hedge, just beyond it.

I rebuilt the bike, I found a breaker bike, the same colour and just swapped parts out. Got the frame checked, MOT and zoomed off. I wouldn't want to be the one to dismantle it again, I over engineered the rebuild.

It wasn't the same though, and a few months later, I moved on to this.

cold 108 miles around north wales today for breakfast, sunnier as the day progressed and the A roads were not too bad, but the B5105 from Ruthin to Cerrigydrudion was decidedly dodgy in a lot of places, especially those areas that were in shade, speed was down to 30mph at some points, downhill on slush and snow on road tyres is defiantly a bit bum twitchy this is normally one of my favourite stretches of road in north wales especially since its been resurfaced and i have never been as slow on it ever ...anyway better than sitting in the house and the breakfast in Ruthin was spot on, no bike for a bit for me as were away in Spain for a bit...might hire a bike for a day when were out there

I looked at renting a Tiger out there for a week. The prices were crazy high.

know what you mean that’s my area roughly in north wales some of the road surfaces are very rough and rutted and the parts shaded by trees can be slippery
I take a break from it this time of year now
can’t wait for the spring though am spending my time getting the bikes ready to go :)

great days riding, in north wales today, weather was chilly but not particularly cold, roads dry and not much salt, loads of mud/stones and sticks on some of the smaller roads...and very light traffic, pity im in work for the next 3 days then off to Scotland for 4 days Saturday ( unfortunately in the car with the family)...roll on next thursday or friday when i can get out again

It would be rude not to do Skye ...
i was actually quite disappointed in Skye considering all the good reports ive heard about it, apart from the Quiraing it was nothing special really, Flora McDonalds grave was good to visit with the thatched houses though, far better in my opinion is the mull of Kintyre, really good, west coast looking onto the Atlantic is wild and rugged, with a fast dual lane road the east coast looking onto arran is sheltered, on tight twisty single track i will never tire of it...or the rest of the west coast, the road from Oban to Inveraray via Kilmartin is epic too ...cant wait to get back up on the bike again( im there for a flying visit on Saturday for 4 days but unfortunately in the car )
