Bandit 1.jpg
My last bike. Tried to reverse push into the garage and my back said "NO"!
I took pics of it and it was off via the bay of thieves very quickly!
Boo hoo!

My first 'big bike' was a Bandit, a 600 SY, back in 2012, an X Reg. I crashed it in 2018, rebuilt it and sold it on. I wouldn't want to be the one to take it apart again, I over engineered the rebuild.

Great bikes.

Heated gilet.

What a wonderful addition to the riding gear.
i have a 800 fill down gilet for when it gets cold...this keeps me toasty, il be out in it saturday with a 250 mile trip round the peak district the thing i have against electric heated wear is A) battery life, i ride for long periods and it wouldnt last, batteries as we all know dont last as long in the cold, exactly the time when id need one, batteries on gloves would also impede me tucking them under my jacket when its wet, ove the jacket and water runs into the glove.obviously the way round batteries is to tether yourself to the bike and have leads to your bike battery..., for me its too much faff with getting on, plugging everything in so that too is a no no, a few of my mates have heated jackets for fishing, but we tend to fish matches for 5 hours so battery life is not as much of a problem and everyone who has one loves it...mind you im the kind of fella that wears shorts right through the year, the only time i wear long trousers is if im in work...on the bike, fishing or if im forced to go somewhere "posh" with my missus

I used the heated gilet for a total of 6.5 hours over Monday & Tuesday, and the battery was only half drained when I got home. That‘s not too shabby.

I don’t think it’s the gilet thar matters, but the battery. Even though the one I bought is supplied with a battery, I used my own Anker 10,000 ma/h one to power it, so I can’t say that the one that comes with the it is as good.

One each ordered for myself and Mrs Nod!

A heads up. I didn’t read the instructions. I don’t know why, but when it’s turned on, mine goes through a cycle of hot, medium, low over about a minute then turns itself off. Once it is then turned back on it stays on. It’s really toasty, and having heat around the neck is lovely.
I always start on hot. After a while it will drop down to medium and stay there unless you change the setting or turn it off.
I hope you both enjoy yours as much as I do mine.

I'm sure we will. Not just for biking but I reckon it'll make waiting on tees more bearable!

I think Ricardo should be on commission!

Last time I looked at heated clothing for bikes, it all needed to be plumbed into the bike - these being battery (and USB power bank at that!) powered makes them a much better proposition for multi-bike and off the bike use.

You know you’ve got good gear when you can go for a ride on a day like today and not have any part of your body get cold.
What a beautiful day to be out on the bike.

I remember coming home on a bike, in the sixties and my right glove was frozen to the handlebars. My leggings (laggings) were stuck to the side of the engine where they had melted and welded themselves on. My goggles had been useless for about five miles and my eyes had been battered by freezing rain, so I looked like I had done a few rounds with a boxer. I just leaned the bike against the wall and staggered into the house, like an arctic explorer, to be asked "Is it still raining out there?"

Coming home on a Sunday afternoon, we stopped (about 10 of us) at Fleet Services to defrost after a nasty run round the M25 and down the M3. The gents saw a line of us using the hand driers to defrost the parts that warm air didn't reach...

Well, if we are all sharing tales of the past ...

I can remember arriving back from a weekend rally in the "summer" on my C15 and having to lie on my back on the drive with my legs in the air to empty enough water out of my boots to be able to remove them ...

Where does the battery or power bank fit?
I can't see it in the pictures - I have a Milwaukee heated jacket that uses one of their power tool batteries which are big chunky things that go in the back, but if a power bank can be used they are a much nicer shape and size so I may need to get one too......!

There is an inside pocket for it.

Not sure I'd want a power tool battery at the back of a biking jacket, just in case the worst happened. I'd imagine the Milwaukee ones are great for site working but less so where falling is more of a possibility!

that’s a very good point actually, I remember years ago a friend got knocked off his bike , he had a brick shaped mobile phone in his pocket ended up with a really nasty rectangular bruise

Thanks - I assume the battery is mobile phone size and shape?

Exactly - I wear mine for work and walking, not on the bike for that very reason. I've spent the last 25 years having operations following a bike smash so I'm well aware how much pain can follow an off of any sort!

Yep. But you can use any power pack with a USB-A input.

Not for C*******s you won't! Mine arrived but too small, and now all seems to be pre-order for delivery by Jan 10th!

:( Gutted!
Yeah I saw that so will wait a bit - I was going to ask about sizing anyway!
Shame for you, but something to look forward to come spring?

I know ... but it's blooming cold working outside at the moment! The sizing is not generous but the biggest problem is that they may say unisex but they are mens which I neglected to take into account as I have hips! Look like really good kit though.

Ours haven't arrived yet. Had the order received e-mail and the order says it's free express delivery. Both sizes were allegedly in stock when I ordered.

back on the bike today for the first time in 3 weeks, a quick 186 miles round north wales, stuck to A roads rather than B roads and tried to stay as close to sea level as we could, my god i enjoyed it...might try and fit in another trip before christmas

Surprised that I only got one bike-related present. A Triumph sweatshirt.
What did you guys get?

Cardo Bluetooth intercom. Biltwell torker grips, a bit slimmer than the recoil grips I put on to get rid of the horrible std ones.
