£180 worth of parking tickets......![]()
My immediate thoughts were:-A car park that has been free after 6:30pm for the last 25 years, now isn't
3 visits x £60
read the sign...stupid..![]()

Dunno when it changed, it was free this time last year.My immediate thoughts were:-
When did it change and was it pre-announced?
Is the signage clear & unambiguous?
What type of carpark ~ private land or council?
In other words, could there be grounds for making a mitigation claim![]()

Surely common sense dictates that you would actually read the signage just to make sure that the parking was still free, it only takes 30 seconds.Dunno when it changed, it was free this time last year.
Dunno about the signage either, didn't read it..
I had to search a bit to find the new charges, most of the top results like trip advisor and your parking space still show free after 6:30pm, but Parkopedia and the onsite business premises websites read differently.
Its Fistral beach, a council car park but run by contractors, you don't have to look very hard to find a cesspit of complaints about it tbf.
Anyway, its paid, no grounds for a claim I wouldn't have thought unless the signage is not clear, I wouldn't know I'm 350 miles away back home now, took it on the chin, moved on.
I imagine Initial Parking are pulling in some eye watering sums though...![]()
Nearly every plum I have picked from our tree has a little pink worm/caterpillar in. Never had this problem before. Looks as though it is going to be a decent crop as well.
Ah! I am none too surprised that they charge for all hours......that AFAIK is one busy place. Not one I have ever been to....I dislike crowds at the beach!Dunno when it changed, it was free this time last year.

"As the recording is by ANPR cameras, I surmise there is a grace period to enter and park but not the 21 minutes one person spoke to find the pay machine"Ah! I am none too surprised that they charge for all hours......that AFAIK is one busy place. Not one I have ever been to....I dislike crowds at the beach!
One/couple comments I read was that it took a while to get to the pay machine and once there the car owners were putting in the time they were at the machine, not the time they parked!
As the recording is by ANPR cameras, I surmise there is a grace period to enter and park but not the 21 minutes one person spoke to find the pay machine.
Now, that did surprise me i.e. thinking they could put the "I arrived at the pay machine 21 mins after parking and used that time, not when I actually parked.. "
Tell me about. An additional gripe is those WITH blue badges who park so that they're covering half of the hatched area between spaces!WAMT and indeed every time I see it.
The flagrant misuse of disabled bay parking spaces especially at shops![]()

Depending on the disability, I don't see that as a problem.A lot of the problems we have here on the island (on the beaches) is the selfish BB holders who abuse these spaces by not using them as a parking space, but using them as a picnic spot.

Depending on the disability, I don't see that as a problem.
What if the driver has a serious problem getting himself or a passenger out of the vehicle. Surely, they should be allowed to take some pleasure from visiting the spot if that's the only way they can?not viewpoints for the selfish and inconsiderate.
Of course it's parked. They just haven't got out.Simple answer: They are not parked - it is classed as 'waiting' and it is stopping those who want to be able to 'park' from being able to do so. They are designated parking spaces, not viewpoints for the selfish and inconsiderate.
That's quite correct, if one is open.If they're not getting out, then there is absolutely no reason that they need a disabled spot - they can use an ordinary one.
I take your point but there are plenty with disabilities that don't need extra room to exit the vehicle. Where should they park?If they're not getting out, then there is absolutely no reason that they need a disabled spot - they can use an ordinary one.
The point is that, if the disabled person isn't getting out of the car, they don't need a disabled space.I take your point but there are plenty with disabilities that don't need extra room to exit the vehicle. Where should they park?
Of course I have. They just choose to use a disabled bay (even though they don't need to) because they have a BB.Have you checked to see if such was the case in the instances you have seen?
Anywhere they please, but if they don't need the extra space (or need to get closer to whatever is nearby) why should those that do need space/access suffer?I take your point but there are plenty with disabilities that don't need extra room to exit the vehicle. Where should they park?
It seems the whole system gets abused. This has to be the biggest abuse of them all I think.
People do as the photo is on the reverse although the badge number contains the year of the holder's birth which can give a clue.It seems the whole system gets abused.
Is it still possible to " borrow" a blue badge?

As I understand it the Blue Badge 'rules' to a degree are quite prescriptive and one flagrant abuse that does, if found out, get stamped on is ~ able bodied driver only in the car displaying their disabled relative's BB when "shopping for my disabled relative..... therefore I am allowed to use the badge.....". A sub script of that I have observed is the disabled person(?) left in the car whilst the driver goes shopping,~ though is this a grey area usage???People do as the photo is on the reverse although the badge number contains the year of the holder's birth which can give a clue.
. It is plain & simply inconsiderate and socially irresponsibleMany people will have that T-shirtWAMT The gauze liner in my swim shorts. After sitting in a sun chair for five minutes, my bum was like a cheese grater!

No! You can't see the pics because there are none and No, I do not need a photographer!!!WAMT The gauze liner in my swim shorts. After sitting in a sun chair for five minutes, my bum was like a cheese grater!

Doesn't negate the fact that, if the badge holder isn't getting out of the car, they don't need that space. These days I think you can get a disability badge for things like Autism which may not lead to any obvious physical impairment.
Don't know how many are fake but there is a large market in stolen badges.Anyway. An ex of mine worked for the council and signed all the blue badges and had a habit of looking at them in cars and saying "That's fake. That's not my signature." In those days and maybe also now for all I know vast numbers of the badges were fake.
