I am getting seriously annoyed with online job applications today, today is the everything getting on top of me day... I am a people person so rely on meeting potential employers but all this new way of applying for jobs is not helping me at all.. I know it sounds weird but I think I need a day off from job hunting.

What area do you work in? It might be worth seeing whether there are any agencies around who you could use. They can be far more effective, especially if your CV is "complicated".
My wife is a good case in point. She took voluntary severance from British Airways ten years ago. She had been in charge of revenue forecasting there, and she'd also done various other things in the area of commercial optimization. She realised that these days similar jobs in other organisations require an accountancy qualification, so she put herself through CIMA. Since then she's had a couple of "permanent" jobs and a bunch of contract / interim work, but it has all come through agents with no exceptions. She reckons she has applied for over 100 jobs online, even some that could have been designed for her rather unusual set of skills and experience, and hasn't even got close to any of them. But the right agent can talk her into a job in almost no time.
The trouble is that with online applications you're essentially playing buzzword bingo with your CV. The job spec has probably been written by an HR person who doesn't have the slightest appreciation of what an outstanding but unconventional candidate could bring to the role, but if you don't get through their narrow-minded and short-sighted filter you'll never get to speak to the director or senior manager who would really understand what you could do.

Yup, in my experience almost all finance jobs are placed by recruitment agents. Some employers only recruit via them as a matter of policy, so if you're not on the right agency's books, you won't get a sniff.
It's starting to change (as firms get fed up of paying the fees) but it's still the most common way of recruiting.

Getting a puncture on my few weeks old bike about a mile from home on the way to work this morning and I hadn't got round to getting a spare inner tube or pump so had to walk it home and swap to my old bike.
So now on the look out for some more puncture resistant tyres and probably slightly wider than the 25s currently fitted

A friend of mine always claimed that everytime he sat in the dentists chair he woudl grab the dentist by the b*****ks and say
" we are not going to hurt each other are we?" somehow I suspect he was lying, but I hoped it was true nonetheless

Ouch. Personally I had the injection more than the actual extraction. Normally seems to wipe me out for the day. Hope it isn't too bad.

I think I have some strutting on mine - hers is full of (well, the bottom inch or 2!) sawdust pellets and catsgit (unintentional typo but I'll leave it in!). IIRC, CfC is on there as well, although I have so much on it that I can't remember for sure. Definitely no AL-W though, I am sure about that!

Not being able to find the part I wanted (not needed, just wanted!) at the Bristol Classic Bike Show. Did manage to pick up a Triumph branded polo shirt which will pee someone at the g*** club off (with a bit of luck!)

Tyre problems................grrrr!
We went Devon on saturday and stayed overnight. Now it was aweful weather driving down and somewhere along the there was a pothole I could not avoid..............no obvious damage and not tyre pressure warning message and with my head in 'holiday mode' I did not walk round the car which is my habit almost every day to check the car is OK. The NSF front was flat as learned within the hotel car park, reinflated it with the compressor but no good it went down within 30 seconds.
Now the WAMT part of this, AA came out (NB no spare and not tools ~ modern cars!) and resolved the issue as irreparable the puncture as in the sidewall just near the shoulder but it was very small i.e. not the 'usual' appearence for a pothole inflicted puncture? He rang round the nearby tyre places and I got a good price for the exact make and tread pattern. The AA guy was a very good egg
This was a UK wide network K-F by the initials........the manager told me they do everything when I asked him please to check all the pressures, he saying that is part of the safety checks they do. Well, number one WAMT was he wanted to sell me one for the OSF because the tread was low. Yes, it is but not so low it needed replacing for possibly another 1500 miles and I said thanks for the heads up "as we are not local I get it done nearer to "home" when needed.
Got back there and done ready roll, we left and about 40 miles out the errant tyre pressure warning system told me I had an issue, why on earth it did not warn when I moved the first thing!!!!! Stopped at the first forecourt I found and all looked well so put the gauge on all four tyres (waited about 10 mins to allow for some cooling) and what did I find (bearing in mind they all should be 2.00 bar and he said they checked them) 2.00; 1.95; 1.90; 2.65 guess which one was the newly fitted one, yes the 2.65 i.e. way over inflated. No wonder the car had an odd feel which the manager "warned me" might be noticed because the different in tread depth on those two corners. His fitter was IMO clearly being tardy or was the manager because I declined the other tyre.
Suffice to say and I know different sites might be 'better', I will not even think about using K-F again.
NB I think I need to get the cars computers a diagnostic check!

Tbf if there is only 1500 miles left on the other tyre on the same axle the shop did the correct thing in recommending to change both. For safety and predictability in handling I nearly alway change an axle pair. And put the best thread on the axle I have least control over; I.e. No power and no steering.
A tpms can require quite a few rotations before it kicks in. Especially if the shop did the right thing and reset it.
Out of interest, what car is it? 2bar seems very low. Not withstanding that, they should have ensured all are the same.

Still got a stinking cold. Too hot all night so I don't think I slept at all. Normally kill them off at sore throat stage so I'm irate it's got further than that.
Quite typical for a fast fit tyre place to get pressures wrong.

And to try and sell you something you don't need, used them once ( it was an all in lease van)
2 bloody hours to replace a tyre!
I'd never use them personally.

I use event tyres for tyres now. I won't even take a car to any of them for a simple tyre re-seal as they'll probably start some nonsense.
