The 28mm is nice glass, incredible close focus.

GAS kicked in this morning.

While waiting for a number plate to be made, I went to look at some new biking gloves for winter. Found one that fitted like a... sock(!) and the chap went off to find the other one. Couldn't!!! Never mind, he said and pointed me at an almost identical one with plainer knuckles (which I hadn't spotted since I stopped when I found a pair that fitted - I'm a bloke!) the were £20 cheaper! A bit warm for now but will be great come colder times.

Been using wrist straps on my X-Pro 2's for a while but they can be a bit inconvenient at times so I have been looking for a decent neck strap.
Looked at a number of different straps and eventually found THESE which are reasonably priced for genuine leather, nice condition and distributed by a photographer.
Bought two and they are great. :)

On my Sony compact, I usually have a wrist strap but on holiday (when I tend to leave my phone in the room) I use the phone lanyard for the camera which slips into a shirt pocket. A pd attachment make the change easy.

I started with a wrist strap, but found it restricting. I then started to use my PD lite from the Sony but soon found the attachments a pain when mainly handholding......

I eventually went genuine, narrow, brown leather and it's lovely :) I can wear as a neck strap, across the body and loop it around into a comfortable wrist strap. Possibly one of the best accessories I've bought :ROFLMAO:

Well I haven't spent any money for at least a month, so GAS kicked in again this morning :ROFLMAO:

Me and the wife are going to Riyadh in 2 weeks and I really didn't relish the idea of carrying my R5, R3 or R1 and lenses, not even sure how people in Saudi Arabia would react.
So I started looking for something smaller but still good quality, and this Fuji GFX100RF looks like it fits the bill, 100MP sensor in a body this size
It's going to be much more discreet, and comfortable, walking around with this.
London Camera Exchange had an open box return for sale for £4,399 so I've taken a punt on that.

I sent the XCD 55V back to MPB.

Found a guy local to me who's selling off his Hasselblad kit so I'm going over today to pickup the XCD 55V, 90V and 28P, I'd have ended up buying them anyway so I've saved myself a couple of grand (that's what I tell my wife) :ROFLMAO:

Just need the camera now, which doesn't arrive until Wednesday!!

Well she arrived a day early, which is always a nice surprise!! :ROFLMAO:
Will know more when I've used it for a few days but first impressions, it feels amazing in the hand and the quality of that screen and viewfinder is incredible.

And the very first picture taken, was of my wife, who still seems happy despite the fact I've spent a few bob in the last 2 weeks!! (she really is a keeper) :ROFLMAO:

Edit: I've noticed the pic of my wife doesn't look very sharp on here, but in Lightroom (first processed in Phocus Desktop) it is razor sharp.

I’ve not purchased anything for a while and I’m thinking of getting a Tamron 24-70 f2.8 for my D600. Is there much difference between the 2 versions that I can get secondhand? I have a Sigma 70-200 f2.8 that I use for gig photography but would also like something a bit wider. I currently also have a Nikkor 50mm f1.8 and a Nikkor 20mm f2.8.

I need help…. I’m teetering on the edge….

Do I keep my Sony a7riv and Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 mkii or trade for the Nikon Z8 and 24-120mm f4..

I’ve been in the Sony ecosystem for the last 6 years, however after the acquisition of the Nikon ZF 6 months ago I’m rather enjoying what Nikon has to offer.

I shoot street and portraiture, am I nuts for even considering a change??

Talk about binge buying I’ve gone a bit crazy just lately first I picked up a lovely D200 body as I had never had one until I purchased a I.R. Converted one then I got a D500 MINT WITH GRIP this was followed by the AFS24-7Omm f2.8 this was followed by the Nikon Z28-400mm then I dipped on a D700 refurbished and today myZ180-600mm arrived to replace my lost long lens recently the credit card has melted in my wallet and is no longer removable from it Gas has really got a hold of me of late now for the hard bit paying for it all ☹

Toying with the idea of getting an anamorphic lens again now they make an AF version.....now do I get it on Fuji or Sony....

I have just purchased the Gomatic PM 8 litre sling from their own website(Tuesday) to be delivered next day( today).

Guess what, hasn’t turned up.

I then go on their website to request a refund of my shipping cost, to also find that they have reduced the cost of the bag by £30 (£149 to £119) in the last 24 hours .

Requested also a Good Will Gesture refund of the said £30.

Now I wait for Sling and response….

After secretly thinking about a Panasonic S9 for a while I saw wex were doing a deal with a 20-60 same price as body only. I mentioned it to my wife a few times. Went to have a look at one to make sure it would fit in my bag which it did! I came away from the shop with the S9 and 20-60! Oh and in the quest for the ideal bag, that also had to be brought recently too. Can't have too many bags right lol. I started to google L mount lenses afterwards, which was greeted by stop it, surely the camera is enough
Funny enough i've just been looking at the s9 what do think of it?

I think iam on my third attempt over the last ten years in purchasing a working Konica IIIA with 50mm F1.8. I ordered one this time from Japan Vintage Camera from the Etsy site. Arrived in about two weeks no import duty or other charges. It looked fantastic and the viewfinder huge and spotless with a really contrasty rangefinder patch.

It didn't arrive with a lens cap and looking on eBay they were a ridiculous price. I enlisted the help of Simon Forster and he is making me one to fi for £8..99.

So i had a play with it this afternoon and the shutter doesn't fire on 1/500 speed. It makes a small noise which allows you to wind on but the shutter blades do not move. Every other speed is fine..

A lot of huffing and puffing, I have sent a message to the seller but no idea what the next steps will be now. Will it be a refund after I pay for postage to Japan, a full refund and I can keep camera and send it off for a CLA. Or another camera being sent first and I send the old camera bag.

Who knows just another paperweight for the time being however it is a beautiful paperweight at that I might even move it into the bedroom tonight to my bedside table.

I was happy for 45 minutes very short lived just the perils of ordering from Japan.

Update.. Going against everything that the manual says if i select a lower speed of 1/250 and then wind on and then change the speed to 1/500 the shutter fires without issue. This was the solution from the seller have asked some other questions relating to this as i feel it will shorten the life of the shutter mechanism.

Looking at your list of kit it seems a lot to have to change if you switch. Is there something that your current system does not do? I guess you could hire something?

I'm in the same position. Trying to justify changing from an A7R iv to a Z8, mostly for landscape work. I'm always worried how the Sony will fare with inclement weather, and the sensor cover for changing lenses in the field would be the icing on the cake.

Did you make a decision in the end?

Well 90% of the film gear has gone (can't get rid of it all can I now?) so with what I hope is only a temporarily debilitating shoulder injury keeping me away from heavy DSLR FF kit the time seemed right to explore the fringes of M43 kit.
I've tangled with 'sonic Lumix gear before so somehow I'm learning to fondle/juggle GX1, GX7, GX8, GX80 and GX9.

Pretty pile innit?

Oh aye there some lenses, native M43 and a few mount-adapted legacy glass.

Picked up a few things over the last few weeks, everything had been delayed in shipping as I was away on holiday, I had the 18-70 with my D70, which I sold on as a kit a few years ago, always thought it was a decent lens, and I hadn't got a lens I could use with my Fujifilm finepix S5 pro, I got it from a seller in Japan I've dealt with in the past, the Olympus databack also came from Japan, the Olympus lens was a price I couldn't refuse.20251011_134434_001.jpgScreenshot_20251005_161356_eBay.jpgScreenshot_20251001_101920_eBay.jpg
