disagree, I didn't see us cheat, dive or be arrogant. Which incident are you referring to?

The English are always arrogant, it all depends on how you interpret it. Ashley Daley is always diving, he just didn't do it in the box this tourney.

Cheating is another man's gamesmanship. Maybe that is why we don't have a killer instinct at pressure parts of the game.

Look at the amount of fouls committed by the Italians, when we had set pieces, on our players when in their penalty area. Cheating or gamesmanship?

I think we was unlucky, dont know much about football but from what ive heard we should have played the 'OX' as my boyfriend calls him lol x

but they weren't out at 90 minutes, so doesn't that mean you don't win your bet?

For the result of the game, including extra time and penalties. I had the choice of for after 90min.

Only put £10 on because Im not that much of a gambler, just give me some motivation to watch the game, also Im Scottish and work in England. The plan was to continue to back them to lose in their next games even if they did win.

Giroud finally confirmed as an Arsenal man. Hopefully that signals the departure of Chamakh and Bendtner!

Or the departure of rvp

If the fee's good enough and gets reinvested into the club then I wouldn't have a problem with it to be honest.

if Van persie leaves Arsene Wengers team then how will I refer to them next year?

The team previously known as van persie? TTPKAVP

I do see where you're coming from with this statement - but for how long can Arsenal remain a top four club if they create world class players, just for them to be sold on?

I don't see a problem with selling on world class players. Especially those with a history of injury who are getting older. May as well sell them at the peak of their value, not in a couple of years when he's older, worth less, and potentially had his value decimated by another injury which has to be considered a likely possibility. There's nothing wrong with selling quality players. Man united sold Ronaldo and lived on. As long as that money is used to bring in new quality.

Joe, maybe you'll be calling us Messi instead :D Haha!

True, true. But I guess this is referring to if Arsenal sell RVP this summer? Otherwise he'll be near on 30 years old and going on a free next year.

I think your signings so far have been pretty top drawer, obviously only time will tell, as always is always the case for foreign players in the prem.

Just need a defensive midfielder now, me thinks.

There's still talk of defensive midfield, an attacking playmaker and cover for Sagna on the the right. M'vila was the likely DM target but rumour has it Wenger is no longer interested following the fallout in the French national side. Of course, wenger is well known far dismissing transfers then going through with them (Arteta last season for example) so we really will have to wait and see. It's quite an exciting time to be an arsenal fan with these changes happening though!

I actually would not be too upset if RVP leaves as he has only had 1 injury free season, and if we could get £20m for him lets take it! But my worry is that the cash will not be spent, and if you look at Ronaldo, Man U went out and spent loads of money since then, not something we are likely to do.

Not too unhappy if RVP leaves, oldish and injury prone, but when Ronaldo was sold Man U at least spent big time, not something I am confident of us being able to do!

Really hope Portugal can put the wind up Spain tonight.

Me too! Am I the only one who's stopped marvelling at the way the Spanish retain the ball and actually finds it rather unentertaining now? Of all the boring games I've seen so far, Spain have been involved in each.

Totally and utterly agree with Alan shearer on the too many foreign players in our domestic football leagues.

Well said that man!

Not sure I'd go as far as to call them boring because of the way they play - I'm just bored of them as a team. Same as Barcelona really.

I just hope Ronaldo isn't isolated tonight.

Do u guys think its wrong for a girl to like football??? X x

The money was already in the bank and available for those signings following champions league qualification.

I'm hoping for a good match but a Spanish victory. Iniesta and Xavi v Nani and Ronaldo - I'll go for the former! :)

Plus my son is a quarter Spanish so I'm claiming some form of Spanish nationality :D.

QPR have signed Diakate today, we had him on loan second half of last season - has the potential to be a fantastic midfielder + when Faurlin is back Mr Barton will struggle to get back in the team. Be interesting to see if Barton makes the 25 for the first half of the season...imagine he will but who knows, after all we did offer Kieron Dyer a one year contract!

Diakite is a great signing, really looking forward to the new season now.

I've got a feeling that Barton won't make the 25 man squad, think Hughes wants shot and I think Barton will want out too.

Would gladly take Barton at Arsenal, we need a player or two with his attributes!!! Seriously, we get muscled out too easily.

Oh dear.

Not only is he a liability (you do remember what he did the last game of season and the punishment for that was, yeah??), he quite simply isn't good enough to be playing for a top four (even top 6 six) team in the PL.

Beckham left out of the Olympic squad, I must say I am a little disappointed.

thats a shame.

I'm going to the opener (at old trafford unfortunately .... shudder...) and would have loved to see him in the squad. But it does show pearce is serious about the competition and wasn't going to include someone purely on their status

Very disappointing, I can't believe he wouldn't have done a job for team GB at that level.

I wonder if it's that Pearce is serious or just proving that he's his own man?
