Dreaded shutter curtain stuck open. I’ve tried all the fixes, no luck. I’m not sure sending to Fuji to be repaired will be worth it.
They used to give quotes but seems like you have to send the item now.
They have a bunch of XH1`s for less? I know it`s old. But still good imo.So I got a quote from Fuji repairs and it was 600 plus. I’ve rejected the quote and they will send it back free of charge.
Kind of scratching my head as what to do next.
For that amount there is a T4 available on MPB. Not a camera that’s really excited me.
I’ve still got my three lenses, 16-55, 18 1.4 and a fisheye. If I trade them I will get less.
So, keep the lenses get another Fuji body? Trade up lenses and use the Nikon D7200 loan that I have.
As I mentioned. Head scratching time.

Did they detail what work is involved? When my son had an overheating issue with his X-T20 Fuji replaced the motherboard, sensor & top & bottom plates. It was basically a new camera in the old body. However that was in the days when there was a fixed price for any repair which I recall was about £170 in late 2023So I got a quote from Fuji repairs and it was 600 plus. I love my T4, I got it specifically because I wanted IBIS. With a stabilised lens it's amazing how long an exposure you can do. This was when I'd first got mine; it's a crap photo but I was just testing. This one is 0.6sec but I have got away with longer than that since then. It’s a fair question. I was looking at what I could get for the amount that Fuji were asking, and noticed that some T4’s were in that price range. I do like the idea of having a body with IBIS.

Street Market Day-04022 by G.K.Jnr., on FlickrHave any of Fuji people ever dabbled with Instax printers? Not something I've really thought about but kind of interested in having a play. Anything I should know in advance? I'm thinking of just finding a old one on ebay and having a go.
I’ve got and used both sizes of instax, they are great for printing brightly lit images. They can be dull and flat if lighting is poor.Have any of Fuji people ever dabbled with Instax printers? I think that’s best option, for sure.eBay, spares or repairs?
Another vote for a Selphy; my son has one and it's a great little thing.I’ve got and used both sizes of instax, they are great for printing brightly lit images. They can be dull and flat if lighting is poor.
As already mentioned, get a Selphy. I love mine.
You can buy genuine canon bulk printing packs. I stocked up a while back on an Amazon offer, I print lots. The nearest thing to a ‘proper’ photo I’ve tried.

I think you can connect a camera via the wi-fi but not sure if it’s just canon cameras. I’ve always just used the Selphy app through my phone or iPad.Thanks @bumper and @Mr Perceptive
Can you print direct from the camera to a selphy? I think that was the only thing that was really drawing me to playing around with the instax printer. Basically using it a little like an old polaroid.
Thanks @bumper and @Mr Perceptive

I won’t try to connect to it then. I’m sure on mine (1500) there’s a direct connection option, if your camera can connect to the wi-fi.You can't, but you can do it via a phone.
Worth looking into that with the instax printers too - only certain models work with certain cameras etc. I was let down when I found out the instax wide printer doesn't print directly from the X-T5, in fact the only camera that can print directly to it is the X-S10 for some reason.
I gave up on the idea, and got a Lomo wide glass instead.

So my 2p worth. My personal experience, others will no doubt have different ones. Can I ask anyone who can be bothered, you still getting lots of use out of your X and would you recommend it alongside a Z8 for example ?
I can get the Z8 pretty small feeling with the 40mm attached (f2). Still, I can't shake the urge to get one which is financially stressful
I posted in the travel forum some shots taken with my Pixel Pro 10 (phone) and that's the sort of vibe I would want with the Fujifilm.
I also see there's an f1.4 option if I went for the interchangeable lens equivalent of the X100VI. Can't remember the model number.
So is it worth all the ££££? I've got:
(All Nikon kit)
Z8
85mm f1.2 ZS
100 - 400 ZS
70 - 200
40mm f2.0 (closest to the FujiFilm 35mm equivalent X100VI)...
105 Macro
And the pixel pro.
Other than portability and FujiFilm presents, I've got it all covered already I think....
I really fkn want one.

I've had an X100s alongside various Nikons (currently a Z8, ZF and Z50II) for what must be 10 years now.Can I ask anyone who can be bothered, you still getting lots of use out of your X and would you recommend it alongside a Z8 for example ?

Thanks for the very detailed response - lots of food for thought!!I've had an X100s alongside various Nikons (currently a Z8, ZF and Z50II) for what must be 10 years now.
It's not just the portability of the X100x, it's also about its very different feel in use.
It also seems less noticeable than the Nikons. It may be my imagination, but when taking photographs with people in them, I seem to get far fewer people staring at me when using the Fuji, than when I'm using one of the Nikons (or the Olympus EM1 MkIII I used for 18 months).
It's pocketability is particularly useful, and I often carry it in a jacket pocket for habitat/people shots when I'm using the Z8 and long lens for wildlife. The depth (ie how much the lens sticks out from the body) makes a big difference in how easy the camera tucks into a biggish pocket or small space in a bag.
The x100s, plus the z50II and 50-250 lens makes for a very compact "do everything" kit in my everyday carry bag. I keep on planning to add the fuji X100 28mm adapter to my bag, but haven't got around to it.Image quality is no where near as good the Nikons, but it's perfectly adequate.
My normal carry for a day out when I expect to take photographs is the Zf with the 40mm f2, rather than the Fuji. But, if I am going to "town" for shopping but want to be ready for an opportunistic photo opportunity, I pop the Fuji (or maybe the Fuji plus Z50II) in my bag.
Another "portable" approach I use is the Z8 plus 26mm f2.8 pancake lens. I have the record button set to change to an APS crop, and I can switch between a 26mm field of view a 40mm field of view at a "press of a button".
Overall, I find having the X100s useful, but not sure I use it enough to warrant upgrading to an X100VI, even for the better lens and higher resolution (maybe for the weather sealing). More useful for me, given the Nikon kit I have, would be a Ricoh GRIV, which would be genuinely pocketable.
Since getting the Zf (with 26mm and 40mm) I've been reaching for the X100s less often, but sometimes the X100s still feels the obvious choice.
I still like the X100s enough, and use it enough, to want an X100VI, but I can't justify the cost. It's still a delightful addition to a Nikon outfit, and for me, fills a niche that Nikon doesn't.
It's a hard decision, and I realise I haven't helped :-(
