The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

its $2K in USD, jeez

well everyone is doing it these days including Ricoh
might as well milk it.

I bet they will sell out in seconds, then will be on ebay soon after for $3-4K

With only 100 being made, and I suspect a number of those reserved by Fujifilm/Disney, it will be gone in less than 60 seconds....................................if I had a regular 100V on back-order I'd be a little cheesed off that they have found parts to make 100 cameras, but then again replacement model is rumoured for Q1 next year...............................

My son said that he would hurl it off a 100 waterfalls if I got one, but he also said that a Spiderman A7iv would be sick (modern speak for cool............)

I have a x-t20 and yesterday went to Goodwood FoS. I have to say that my keeper rate for panning was poor at best - my 19yr old son used my d500 and demolished me.

I like to champion the underdog but I also remind myself that I got the xt20 for travel. That said, is there something “better” that’s relatively cheap with IBIS ? I’ve come from an Olympus e-m1 mk2…

Been using the X100V as our family camera. Since I bought it my daughter has started walking (and somewhat running). My keeper rate has gone from 90+% to under 50% :(

Depends on what your mean by better... There's previous gen Sonys... But discussing those is off-topic here. There's another thread for that ;)

Had one on back order for a while. Luckily found one on here.

I was a bit annoyed to be honest. But at the same time if you could only find parts for a 100, you might as well make some kind of limited edition instead since 100 regular ones probably gets no where close to satisfying the global demand.

I was happy with my X-T2 at Mallory Park the other week, but my comparison was an old 1Dmk2.

I guess that the X-S10 would be slightly better AF with IBIS, an the X-S20 would be an even bigger step up. It will be interesting to see what Fuji do with the successor to the X-T30 (X-T40 or X-T50?), and if it will have IBIS.

Nice shot.
Didn't realise x-s series had IBIS.
They added IBIS to X-T4/5.
X-S20 came out with 26mp.
Also I wonder if X-T40 will be 26mp or 40mp?

great shot, I looked at the x-s10 as it has ibis…not sure which way to go tbh. I’ve done this before so many times, downsized to simplify my kit then ended up with a bucketful of bodies and lenses

Surely this is down to technique and not a reliance on the equipment, I have shot a fair bit of Motorsport with a GFX where I get one a single pan shot per car pass, I still get enough keepers to be satisfied

Indeed. People have been panning since long before the X-T20 was released.

"Regular" panning shots aren't very demanding on autofocus at all. The autofocus on the X-T20 shouldn't struggle that much unless you're literally trackside and trying to shoot the car coming towards you.

Better to zone focus tbh, combined with stopping down a fair bit to get your shutter speed slow - you should barely need autofocus!

I’ve been taking panning shots for many many years so I know what I’m doing. At FOS, you are trackside with a very very narrow window of sight due to the crowds.

Maybe I’ll learn the xt20 a bit more before making an decision (y)

I know, I've seen your your work over the years (and its been excellent), a narrow window certainly won't help, but I've found that not using AF when its not snappy enough is the way to go (and not shoot in continuous, I concentrate on one shot per pan)

Curious choice of limited edition - looks ridiculous IMHO. It’s a serious bit of photography equipment not a toy with cartoons plastered over it

Looks like a bizarre spoof.

If Fuji are doing something like this then it undermines their credibility IMO. Moreover it doesn't look like they have any problems selling X100V cameras at the moment so they don't need screwball gimmicks to run it out as an old model.

Perhaps there is reverse psychology here? With limited supply they have tainted a batch to target a specific smaller market - and dissuade many from trying to placeorders.

What is it with the price of Fujifilm cameras these days. I've been away from photography for a while for one reason or another and fancied getting myself an X-T1 but the price now is almost double what they were a few years ago when I sold mine... Have I missed something along the way somewhere?

The 100V and the original X100 have become TikTok sensations, this has raised the price of all pre-loved Fuji Cameras. Its fine if you are selling but not great if you ae buying!!!

Hello!

Asking your advice as I can’t seem to locate this myself and slightly over-awed with what I need and don‘t want to get it wrong!

I have an XT-4 and have just got a new 2022 M3 iPad Pro for work which I plan to use for downloading my photographs. I had an old 2015 MacBook before which got very slow.

I’m looking for a cable to connect my XT-4 to iPad. Can anyone send me a recommendation please? Is it USB-C to Thunderbolt? Or USB-C to USB-C? Urgggh!

Also, what is the standard iPad software to download images?

Many thanks

Philip

USB-C to USB-C will be OK. "Photos" is the default app for downloading images, but you may want to explore something more powerful, like Lightroom.

Once it does go it will be, X-S10 XF35mm f1.4 XF50mm f2 Fuji flash Godox and trigger plus a Blue Billingham shoulder bag, then I have some pretty big lighting to get rid of. Over the next week I will get it priced up as only one original box now and that's for the 50mm.

I have to go out today last test to do, then I have to sort out something and once back I hope to get this lot in the classified. It has been hard to make up my mind but I now know the above will go so someone can put a use to it.

Decided to pop along to the Classic Nostalgia meet yesterday at Shelsley Walsh in Worcestershire.
Just took the X-Pro1, the 35mm f2 & a Minolta 90mm f4 (on a converter) as I wanted to spend more time shooting in the pits and the characters rather than just the cars, albeit there were some rather nice cars there!

After some help please..

What’s the “lowest” in the line-up / most reasonably priced body with a fully articulating screen please ? I attend lots of car meets but have arthritis in my knees and so find getting up from a crouching position increasingly hard and painful. If something has IBIS too, that would be a bonus but not a deal breaker..

I love my xt20 for its size but I miss the screen of my e-m1 mk2

thank you

X-S10 would fit your needs (but is £750-£800 s/h (dealer prices))
