The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

How common is the “turn camera off and on again” issue with the 27 f2.8 ?

I bought one from eBay for a good price and had this issue. Seller was very good, I returned the lens and a refund has been issued.

I fancied a small pancake lens for travel…

First I've heard of it. I'll have to look into it as was planning to pick one up soon. Is it the new one or the old one that does it?

I've the first version of this lens and don't recognise that problem. I've both an XM-1 and an XT-2 ,if that helps

I’ve had that error message on a GF63. Had to send to Fuji. New focus motor fitted.

I haven't used my X100f much but I did take it out recently and I think this is my favourite Fuji picture so far.

X100f at f2.

She'd passed her driving test earlier that day and wanted to go to this place for a coffee and a scone to celebrate :D

I never had that issue with the first version of that lens on my X-T20.

I’ve recently picked up a TTArtisan 27mm F2.8 which isn’t quite as small as the Fuji lens, but still pretty small, and very light indeed - might be worth looking at that if you’re worried about the Fuji?

Well my journey using most of the Fuji X system has now come to an end, I have been thinking for a long time now about getting rid of my kit as I'm using my phone a lot more now and if I did want to use a camera then I have my little GR 3 that I hope to pick up one day and maybe use. Thanks for all the help/advice over the years I've used this great thread, but my Fuji days are now over.
My kit will go up for sale but just not yet.

Dave, please take your time, you've been through this loop before.

This time is different now though, as last week when I used the Fuji I hated having it in my hands so made my mind up then.
Crikey mate. So sorry to hear this. As David says, take your time. Just put it to one side for a few weeks first. I’ve been too hasty to let gear go many times. Nearly always spent even more getting it back.

Anyone any thoughts on the X-T5 versus the X-H2 please. Thoughts on the X-H2 x 2s are sorted.

Stills only. Vid isnt an issue.

Many thanks guys.

It's more down to health issues mate really plus I hated having it in my hands last week, I will keep the GR and little RX100 3 but that is all now. I just want to be a happy snapper as the saying goes, but the Fuji kit will go with other bits that go with it.

It’s a very personal thing. I’ve had both. Much preferred the H2. The ergonomics for me are better. Loved the EVF and the provision for 7 Custom Settings on the SPAM dial. Performance wise. As you’d expect the image quality. AF speed. Subject recognition. The same.
Both great cameras.

I'm having similar thoughts, albeit X-T5 (because I like the ergonomics of my X-T2) or X-H2S (because I want the fastest AF), although I guess the ergonomics between X-H2 and S are the same.

Sorry to hear that Dave, but if you do decide to sell then here is a (y) from me on your honest descriptions of your kit and the excellent way you conduct the transaction.

Once it does go it will be, X-S10 XF35mm f1.4 XF50mm f2 Fuji flash Godox and trigger plus a Blue Billingham shoulder bag, then I have some pretty big lighting to get rid of. Over the next week I will get it priced up as only one original box now and that's for the 50mm.

Thanks, I hadn't realised that there was such as significant difference in EVF until you mentioned it!

I recently got an X-H1 and prefer the look & feel to the X-T series but it has significant issues for what I want to use it for (shooting tethered at high[ish] volume for long sessions), hence the thought to upgrade.

TBH, the idea of 40meg on an APS-C concerns me a little, especially looking at the DP Review samples around 6400.

I'm fairly certain that I'm going to stick with the H series but the idea of saving a few hundred quid was a little tempting!

Edited to add: Thanks both!

Take care @Fuji Dave
Hope your health improves and you feel like picking up a Fuji again at some point

This will be going in classified tomorrow sometime, with the flash gels and a 128GB memory card. God knows what I will do with the lighting as it's heavy.

Sad to see you leaving us, mate. Just don`t rush into everything at once. Healing takes time.

Since last night I have been looking back on some of my images I have taken with the Fuji X system that has for many years given me some great times in my life, as some will know I had tried the Sony system that was really very enjoyable which I had a few of those. The one thing that stands out to me though is I always came back to Fuji as there is something I can't put my finger on, is it the Fuji film sims I don't know even though some are really great. Long story short I won't bore you with how my head/health is, but what I might bore you with is some old Fuji shots I have taken over the years that have given me a fantastic time taking them and even breaking all the rules in my photography. Until I start to use my Fuji again I will repost some of my favourite Fuji images.
