The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

It's about £25 for the 64GB Lexar cards, hence asking.
I know SanDisk are a tad more expensive.
That`s a good price. I`ve just had a look, and wonder what makes the SanDisk more than three times the price though. When I first got my new cards, the price for UHS2 was silly expensive in comparison.

I think I paid over £90 for 64mb cards many years ago... They went up to 4gb a few years later but just silly money

I'll be a guinea pig then and buy the Lexars to see how they do. :)

Bargin...
I bought a 48MB CF card back in 2000 for £115 (which was a lot of money for me back in those days).
More than enough for the whole of my honeymoon using the whizzy DC240.

X-100 mk1

Notice a couple of things when used in anger.

1 - Adjust focus point needs 2 hands operation, horrible, especially for such a small camera, why why why? Who decided this?
2 - Shutter speed doesn't go high enough, even on a cloudy day on F/2.0.
3 - Therefore I need to use the ND filter, which has notible impact on image quality.
4 - Unable to overcome Auto ISO without going into the menu, even when I mapped ISO adjustment to the RAW button.

This is before focus speed slow, write speed slow, which are a given for an older camera, but these 4 points I would overcome with getting a newer model, if the newer model fixes these.

Files are quite nice, sharpness acceptable, size of the camera is amazing.

Lovely images...!

I'm still shooting both a XE1 and XPro1 bodies and so love the file output from that (old/original) sensor.

Regards.

Fuji BC W235 battery charger question...

Is it correct that it only charges one of the two batteries at any one time?
And if so, does / should it auto switch from CH1 to CH2 when CH1 is charged?

Edit: Answered my own question...
If you use the charger and chunky cable that comes with the camera it charges both batteries at the same time.
With a generic cable and phone charger, just one side is charged at a time.

It needs a power supply of at least 5v to charge both I believe.

First off I'm glad I withdrew the X-T5 and XF35mm f1.4 R, second I am going out next week with my wife so need to start using both my Fuji X kit. Three lenses will do for me now.

X-T5 + XF35mm f1.4 R, the colour is a straight Jpeg.

More X-T20 experiments!

The moggy. Those blacks look great on this camera

First (slightly shakey) experiment with long exposure - f2.6, ISO1600, 15 seconds

If anyone has a TTartisans 27mm AF for sale, let me know. I can’t quite stretch to the Fuji equivalent at this time.

Still not mature enough for the classifieds; hope a note here is okay.

Mod Edit :- Post anything Classified related in The Classifieds. You'll get access when you have made enough posts and contibuted to the forums.

As you had ackowledged a recognition of the rules, consider this a light touch. (y)

Oh, and DON'T EDIT OUT MODERATOR COMMENTS.

Backlit tree and jogger by Lewis Craik, on Flickr

I actually got out for some proper photography this morning, rather than just taking the camera out with me for whatever other activity I am doing. I met up with some local photographers for a sunrise photo walk, unfortunately, the sun had a bit of a lie in and there was only about 5 minutes of decent light, but I was pleased when this jogger went past the backlit tree.

I see why they are so much cheaper now. They don't come with the cases !
:exit:
Arrived today. Not had a chance to try them out yet though.
On the evidence of a single outing, shooting a around 300 images the Lexar cards didn't cause any obvious issues.
Obviously that's not an exhaustive test, but first impressions were that they were fine.

Okay. Question for the community :)

I was looking at the Meike 6.5mm f/2 fisheye.
I can't find any lens correction profiles on Lightroom for it.
Does anyone have one of these on their Fujis and can the image be corrected to the point where it looks like an ultra wide?

I appreciate that I should really be shooting multiple images and stiching them together, but on some occasions at the events I shoot, this isn't the best option.
I was pondering whether I could make my life easier with a fisheye and correction in pp.

After correcting a fisheye to give a rectilinear image, you need to crop it to remove the blank areas.
Unfortunately when you have done this, what is left is no more than you would have got with a wide rectilinear lens in the first place.

However a fisheye will be the cheaper option.

I think after using the X100 properly, and found myself never using the OVF....instead of getting the X-Pro2 I might opt for a used X-E4 when one pops up.

I never use the OVF either. The advantage of the X100 for me is that once you mount a similar lens on the X-E4 the X100 is more compact but of course you can't change the X100 lens, if that matters.

X100F or V would cost like twice or 3x the price of a X-E4 body. Since I already have lenses...I only need the body. I never put the camera in my pocket anyway so the extra inch thicker is not a deal breaker.

I see you point but one of the main attractions to me is the compact size.

X100 v X-E4 with 23mm f2.

Untitled-1.jpg

If you don't value that so much then there are clearly other options and then I think I might as well take my A7.

There is also the fact that i can update the bodies that i have from the X-T1, and the bag fits a SLR so it'll fit a X-E4 with any lens.

besides, I see the X-100 as a separate thing. I am comparing the X-E4 with the X-Pro2. The price thing, just as a comparison. I'll get a X-100v when they are not stupid prices. There's going to be a million of these on the used market once the 6 is released..... and i am going to guess it will be call the X-100R. R is Roku in Japanese, Roku is 6 in Japanese..

This website is exactly what convinced me to buy an X100V, well a year ago today, I had one on loan from Fuji and that sealed the deal.

Gratuitous share of my favourite photo with the loaned X100V:

I bought a used X100s but it seemed to have a weird issue with the EVF intermittently going very dark so it went back. I couldn't find another at a reasonable price so replaced it with an X100f.

This was with the s.
