When you think about it you are getting always updated, powerful software (LR and PS) for just £9 a month, or whatever it is, and that is a good deal by itself, but then when you add Portfolio (which would be another £5-10 a month to host a website) plus access to adobe fonts - it is something I really don’t mind paying for. I think a lot of people begrudge paying a subscription as a matter of principle without actually stopping to consider what you are actually getting for approx 32 pence a day and will quite happily spunk hundreds of pounds on lenses they barely use or that they buy and then sell losing more than the annual cost of the subscription in depreciation.
I’m with you; I also find that its really handy having Lightroom available on almost all of my devices (PC, tablet and mobile) - you never know when you might want to do a quick bit of post processing!
I really like Affinity Photo (on the iPad anyway) especially as it doesn’t feel like iPad Photoshop is quite there yet; always fancied trying Capture One but Fuji stuff seems ok in Adobe now and I really like doing most of my editing on tablet now; just makes me more likely to actually do it!
