The Amazing Sony A1/A7/A9/APS-C & Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

..... I really don't want to have to buy ANOTHER d750 so hopefully its as good or very nearly.
I owned about 4 or 5 D750s, I always thought the performance in terms of AF wasn't anything special. If anything I found the 5Dmk3 better AF wise. The sensor and DR was great though

Just before I upset the Sony rep yesterday it was suggested that the a7s3 will be coming in 3 months time.

So a few shots from London - just mashing the button using Wide Area Continuous AF + face detection, whilst walking and using f2.8 at 1/1000th shutter speed.

Wasn't really trying to compose shots, but just trying to gauge the C-AF/Face Tracking/Speed of the camera - and I like it....

I found the D750 better than the 5d3 in pretty much every way. Considering it could be had for way less money made it even better.

Definitely a Sony shooter now, selective colour.

Some great shots

I don’t think I ever notice the D750 missing a shot in CAF. That’s probably a really strong point of the camera. I’m just being lured in to something new and maybe a new photo journey.

Its called Gas.

Once bitten eh?

I will not buy another camera based on internet hype, I will try it first, there is no rush.

Agree. The trouble is with the current videos is that it was all the same reviewers at one event given great lighting and great scenes to work with. Hands on reviews in real world situations are usually better IMO!

I agree, we need to wait for real hands on owner reviews before assuming the AF is as good as it’s made out to be.
I’m pretty sure the Sony A7R III struggled in lower light compared to the Sony A9 so the A7 III could suffer too, hopefully not though. :)

The same all expenses paid awesome event.

How’re you finding colours and IQ compared to your Leica and previous cameras?

Hard to tell, so far I'm happy with the image quality. I feel pixel peeping isn't quite so satisfying but I've not taken Base iso images.

I think if I don't pick up the leica I can reset my feelings on IQ and forget the leica ;) but I have got this idea that I could sell all my leica and complement the Sony with hasselblad medium format. Possibly 100MP X2D assuming it comes..

As soon as I see some a7iii action shots with decent CAF I MIGHT be sold!!

I'm off to Goodwood Circuit next weekend for the Members' Meeting. I have an a7Rii and FE 100-400mm along for the ride. Was hoping to have an a7iii as well but it's looking very tight to get hold of one sadly.

Oh dear, he really lost me when he said the A7iii had "2x the image quality" of the X-H1 "because the sensor is twice as big". I don't mind Tony but that video is clearly just aimed at getting him some referral sales and/or a kickback from Sony.

That said, I do wish Fuji would steal some of the Sony tech or Sony would copy the Fuji bodies/interface, that would be a dreamy combination for me.

yeah I stopped watching at that point :P
I am hoping what he meant was A7III gathers 2x more light than X-H1 which would be true.

The Sony probably does have twice the image the image quality of the Fuji at high ISO’s, which is what he goes into saying.
The Fuji is just too expensive for what it offers.

So what makes the A9 more of a sports camera more than the A7iii if we don’t include the 20vs10 FPS and zero black out shutter?
