A great photo for the theme - colourful and nicely composed (seasonal too)
 
Fantastic shot and colours there Simon,

Try making a small print see how awesome it looks, I think that is why we take photos, right?
 
Some weeks are easier than others to get motivated.

If you were lacking motivation when it was taken, is there something you could do with the PP?

Heavy vignette? Add grain and crunch the blacks? Push the colour saturation? Selective colour on the heavy one?

Might be quick & dirty in your book but I thought it was effective and eye catching. I love this time of year for all the different squash and pumpkin varieties.
The second version has just revealed itself, much more effective

Good selection of heavy stuff there, agree with Kell - some weeks are a bit of a downer but its Thursday tomorrow :)

I’m having the same problem as you regarding inspiration but I thing the shot of the pumpkins works well for the theme.
 
Week 41 - Nightime

Went out for an hour or so this evening specifically to shoot some night shots to catch up, and also to make the effort to shoot photos for the theme, rather than my usual modus operandi of carrying a camera and hoping I fine something that'll fit the week's theme. A selection to choose from.

Even Lidl can look good at night ! Liking the leading line on your pier shot.
 
I do like your chosen shot - I think I'd have been tempted to try a long, thin crop. May or may not add soemthjing to it.

Also a fan of shots looking in to places from the outside - especially when there's an obvious change in the quality/colour of light. So I do also like the Cafe shot.

Nice shots particularly like the pier shot and the cafe shot reminds me of Hopper’s well known nighthawks painting. Your exposures are all good - was that bracketing or just experience ?

I'd like to say it was experience! :LOL:

In practice, it was messing around with the settings until I found a combination that worked - dumped several shots that were underexposed, and some that were over-exposed. Mostly it was about adjusting the ISO and shutter speed - and importantly finding a flat (ish) surface to rest the camera on as I didn't take my tripod :rolleyes:

Some of the shots were actually hand held, and the IBIS took some of the effort.
 
Nice set Simon, the pier shot for me as well and like the processed Lidl shot
 
Great night photography set Simon, my favourite is a tossup between the Penarth seafront cafe and the Dow Corning plant.

I like your autumn colour shot as well, simple and well thought out.
