Simon's 52 for 2025

Nice composition. Needs more light though. Photoshop and the histogram say another stop.

Cheers Dave. I’ll have a little play tomorrow (too busy watching the golf tonight!)

Removing the post and increasing exposure was the right thing to do, much better.

Week 16 - After the rain and Tech - Long exposure

After a rainy early morning, the day was bright and sunny, and this canal weir at Lapworth in Warwickshire provided an ideal opportunity for capturing the weir in spate and adding the long(er) exposure tech.

Yep - nicely done :)

Week 17 - Stairs

An early submission this week, after these steps/stairs caught my eyes on a quick amble down at Cardiff Bay this morning. Full disclosure, I've tweaked in PP using tone mapping to make everything pop a little more than the original shot, but I like it this way and I think the square crop suits..

Well spotted; interesting scene and well presented. I think the square crop suits it very well.

Without seeing the original, I think the square crop works.

I love house like this as they always seem quite grand.

And then my practical side thinks it would be a PIITA to carry shopping up there. Or a pram.

Cheers Kell. The original had cars both sides and some bland sky, so this is quite a tight crop, and there was nothing else of interest there really.
It would certainly be awkward getting stuff in and out
Fab shot Simon :)
Thanks Dave. That’s very kind.

A good shot I might have cropped the sides but I think it works as it is.

Nice, the blue tones really make the image impactful.

Week 18 - Geometric and Tech Black and White

A little more deliberate intent this week rather than a random snap. A wander down at Barry Island with the specific intent of grabbing some geometric images, and using black and white .
