Like many other people on here...
Today was a long complicated affair fraught with disaster all the way lol.
Luckily for me it wasn't my gig and I saved the day. Didn't feel much pressure and got a few decent shots so I'm happy.
Not being in the ceremony itself was a blow, and part of the long story.
 
Glad to hear it went ok for you, was it a disaster with the main wedding togger?

They are a nightmare aren't they?? Sounds like you had a bad one, just like my first.

If it makes you feel any better, the second one was an absolute dream in comparison.

Did you enjoy it?? I found it to be exhilarating. :D

Totally enjoyed it :D Felt absolutely no pressure at all, totally relaxed, laughed half the time.
Walked in and I knew half of the people there, which wasn't ideal for my first gig.
They were asking me, "how long have you been shooting weddings?" Erm, this is the first :lol:
Next one booked is a church job, yay! Hopefully I'll actually see that one...

I used all of my money, shouldn't even have done it.
But yes, it's bloody awesome. Sharp like a prime, focus in a snap it's silly.
I just hope I can afford to hang on to it...

I'm seriously contemplating selling a few bits and pieces to get one. I've quite a few lens I don't use.

The 70-300VR, 18-55 d40 kit, 18-105VR d90 kit, nifty 50 and I could live without the 10-20. It's nowhere near the price of one, who am I kidding!!! :D
 
You'd be close with that lot I reckon.
I also now want to lose the 70-300VR and go for a 1.7x TC. Should do me for a while I think.

I like it mate, high contrasty B&W seems to be the "in" thing for portraits.

You missed the focus slightly on Poo?? face, it's spot on on Vikki's but the cat's slightly forward of her. Obviously at 70mm 2.8 :razz:

Fred's award finally turned up, he's won 5 open firsts, you need 3 to get champion status. For a neutered animal that becomes Premier, which is what the "Pr" stands for.

I grazed my foot in Latvia, which wasn't a problem, but it's picked up an infection, swollen up like a balloon and is causing me a lot of pain.

Had to go to the doctors about the foot, now I'm on antibiotics and the Nurse has dressed it properly. Spotted some classic sports cars at the Severn Valley Railway on the way back.
