Oh no... Another 365!

For anybody that's interested.

I wanted to be on the floor grabbing the bottle, but the pose looked awkward and rubbish. That would have left me with a bit more normal skin tone and the coloured BG, still worth doing though.

LOL, it's only irrelevant because it had no part in making the photo  Great bit of kit that is, I'll be using it in a mo :D

Thanks mate, I had a bit of guidance for inspiration, the orange carrier bag was all my idea though

227,
this Aston at Shelsley had lots of attention, which was unfortunate because I wanted a cool wide angle shot of it but it was a job just getting close. This was the most uncluttered (with people) I could manage.

It's a very unusual colour for an Aston actually.
My Dad had a company Escort estate in a similar colour, it looked very gay.

228,
probably my favourite shot from yesterday, Tom New at Shelsley.

229,
NOT my thing, I have no idea how to do this properly.

Love the racing car shot, the background is great as it's not the normal plain track you see in lots of shots. I would have cloned out the rock in the lower left, but that's being picky, love it though ;)

It's a railway sleeper, I wasn't sure what to do with it as it's part of the course, and I haven't cropped one of my photo's from the weekend. Deleted a few though
I is a minor thing, but you've picked up on what's been my hardest decision...

Apart from that, one of the most interesting track shots I've seen for the composition and background.

Most of it is stopped down at least a stop mate...

The motorsport section don't like my stuff from the weekend :'(

Can't please everyone. ;)

I like them, even the one that you've chopped half the car off of. Definitely my favourite.

I've been shot down numerous times, normally for stupid shutter speeds like 1/25. Which I like!!

You can't please all of the people all of the time mate, but, well... you have PM

I am the worlds best gardener.
Stuff grows in my garden, I do nowt, absolutely nothing.
Something green grew in a window box, so I pulled it out of there and chucked in a bucket of dirt, now I have a kilo of potatoes.

230,
my kingdom for a macro.
No JD, my kingdom NOT my 70-200

LOL JD, I wonder how well it'd work on tubes?

Fabs, I was sat at the patio table with the camera on the tripod and the 70-200, waiting for the cat to attack something.
The wasp landed on the table, in the sun, so I just moved the tripod to the minimum focus distance and fired off a few frames.
That's actually a 100% crop, luckily the D700 files seem to handle heavy crops very well.

I'd have been too busy running away!!

Fabs you wimp

Yep Lisa it worked out well, Venture style wasp portrait :D Hurts your eyes when the sun's out though. We used to have a tablecloth on it but the last couple summers have been so bad we haven't bothered.

Aren't there cheap ones that give you nothing and expensive ones that give you full control?

Yes you can get ones that AF etc but I was cheap. ;) EDIT!!

You need to set the aperture in camera, then while pressing the dof preview button, take off the lens. Mmmmm....

Yep, it does crop REALLY well.
The other thing is that when you do get noise it seems to clear up a lot more easily too, (no noise reduction here though).

Yep, I'm convinced that most of what you lose in "crop factor" is regained by "the full frame advantage".

231,
is my life passing me by?

Shot on the way to a meeting on the train this morning.
Actually had it edited before the end of the journey, but no internet till now :(

Like the pp and the movement out the window. Most trains ive been on you couldnt see out the windows due to names/ crap being scratched on

Dont know bout you but mine has the past few years

Well you've got us now :D

Nah mate, they are only trees. :)

nobody's mentioned the poor quality of the shot yet
