Official Talk Leica thread

Following a mention in B+W Photography magazine, I discovered Hooton Hangers, a small museum located about 35 minutes from me. They have a handful of open days each year (and today was one of them). What a fantastic little place and the enthusiasm really brought the place to life, throughly recommended (mix of Q3 and Q3 43)

Hi, could be in Dearborn/USA, perhaps ... (M9 - Elmarit 2,8/28 asph. f 2,8 ; crops) :

For car events, I normally take 35mm lenses if I do not know the location and/or the cars are big. If there is enough space, I take a 50mm lens.

My wife was on an Embroidery Workshop in Neston on Saturday, so I took the opportunity to walk down to Parkgate and along the Wirral Way ending up at Hooton Station. Armed only with my Leica Q3, I chose to shoot in monochrome and square (1:1) format, and these are only lightly edited jpegs (no cropping!) - she is on a second installment of the workshop next Saturday, so may walk the other way to West Kirby :)

Classic Ferrari & a beautiful colour as well.

M10-P & 50mm ‘cron.

Must admit the Leica is getting less and less use these days with my acquisition of the Nikon ZF which is slowly growing on me. However, it’s a bit cumbersome to use & I’m in two minds whether to move all my Nikon stuff on along with the M10-P & pick up a Q3. Problem is I want both the 28mm & 43mm Q3. :ROFLMAO:

Tough one. You need to talk to David @Mr Perceptive

Given I'm guilty as charged (having both now :ROFLMAO: ) - its a bit of an investment (though I did buy the 43 on the Wex buy now pay in 6 months time deal, so it hasn't hurt the bank account yet. They are both fantastic cameras, the 28 is probably a little more flexible, but that APO lens on the 43 is something else wide open. the out of focus falloff is astonishing especially for a lens thats 'only' F2 - its got more of a medium format look than I expected wide open. As with all recent Leica glass the lenses are bitingly sharp, but they have real character to them. I can't see me changing back to a ILC system, the handling on them is sublime, nothing gets in the way of taking the photo.
