Official Talk Leica thread

Hi, two pics of a male squirrel.

The D850 has IS (in the lens), high res and an AF lens. The M9 performance is quite impressive against a strong competition, I think.

However, the D850 is much easier to use for pics like these. Focusing the M9 is not easy ... ---

The Calm Ripple of Spring by Adam Bonn, on Flickr

m9 and 28 elmarit

In fact funny story... (no it isn't Adam) my GF and I went to a picturesque little town we know well, mainly because it was warm there and we wanted lunch, but we bought our cameras

After lunch I thought well I may as well shoot something... reached into my bag and pulled out my trusty M10-R... only it was the M9, I'd had them both out a while back and managed to mix up their respective bags (so I had the M10r bag but with the M9 in it)

No big drama I thought.. then the M9 told me it was time to change the battery, only the spare charged battery was back home in the M9 bag!!

I managed to coax 29 shots out of it.. They say the M9 is like film, well it was that day I assure you

I still get alerts for this thread and, mistakenly, I scrolled back to the first couple of pages.

It's unbelievable how so many people can have so much disdain for a brand capable of producing just as spectacular images as literally any other brand on the market.

Ah but us Leica M users, with zero AF, best guess framelines, and WB algorithms that are quirky have to work a little harder do it :D

I recently rented a Canon R3 for the weekend to see what I was missing. I have many thoughts.

The internet is a dangerous place. Did you know, professionals don't use leica? Don't use manual focus?
