Daily MWHCVT(Matt's) Challenge 366 - 2012 - Now with added 5D3 Goodness

Hiya Matt,

I am not missing the 52 as much as I thought I would at time of deciding not to do one again this year and TBH am glad I made that decision as there is so much going on in my personal life at the mo, and with my health .... I just wouldn't have the stamina to keep up.

However, there is always next year, and hopefully by then I will be in a better position to attempt another 52 and possibly even a 365.

In the meantime though, I will draw inspiration from my fellow TP friends and try to provide encouragement as and when I can.

Cheers

Dawn x

Nice one Dawn I think that's great as I know all my fellow POTD nutters will welcome that generous support, I know that without the great support that I've had from TP that it would be a lot harder to have carried on doing it into year two

As you know I changed my last comment as it was about another of your shots and wasnt relevant to Day 56 as the link yuo gave me went to the another of your shots

I quite like Day 56, its very colourful, its like one of those upward panning shots, with the streaks, or zoom shot, I think what youve done suits the shot, I would also like to see the original

Hi Matt.
I have just found this thread, there is so much on this site for a newbie like me.
I just wanted to say that you must be slightly bonkers as well as being incredibly creative and absolutely inspiring with some of your work. How do you come up with the ideas every day for a new photo and how do you get the time?
Keep up the excellent work and i will be subscribing to this thread to keep an eye on it.
Phil

Thanks Dave, Indeed that is the idea  and to also push my editing skills  I'm pleased that you like that the colours are I was worried that I'd pushed my colours a little too much

Thank you very much for your comments Phil, there are a lot of wonderful things for you to find and enjoy on this site  I'm pleased that you are liking what you've seen in this thread now that you've found it  I'll be honest sometimes I feel completely :cuckoo: for doing this challenge but on the whole it's really enjoyable, as to finding the time, that's the hard part, I plan everything I do around my challenge

No to sort out today's photo

Day 57 - Going with the flow

It's ironic and not actually planned but I've ended up just a few miles down stream on the River Avon for today's POTD to where I shot yesterdays photo, this shows this evenings sunset while taking in some of the of the river side buildings and the bridge of Bidford-on-Avon

Thats nice, but I think theres a better image in there somewhere, the reflection is excellent and the sky lovely.

I think you could loose the lower right hand corner to lust about where the jetty is which would loose some of the houses on the right too and bring the focus in to the reflection, tree and sky.

Sorry if I'm over stepping the mark.

You know now that you've said that I'm seeing a better crop in there myself :bonk: that's what TP is all about  I think that this crop would have worked better had there been someone fishing off the peg  my idea was using the back to frame the images from the bottom  but I do think that cropping to take some of the bank out could well improve this images

Don't ever worry about giving for C&C on any of my photo's that what I want  it's why I joined TP in the first place and after all this is the C&S section..

Matt

I was only just thinking that this would look better with someone fishing or without the fishing platform!:tumbleweed:

Me too, so obviously the reverse applies :)

:bang: you know the annoying thing is that until this afternoon before going out I had a fishing box that has become a light painting box in the car, all I would have needs would be a couple of other things out the fishing room and then I could have gone and took this shot with a fisherman in frame  maybe a re-shoot for that idea is in order

Good to know, if I'm honest I always give honest critique, I don't see the point in not doing that as your not helping the person if you just say I like it when you don't if you do it constructively the person will never feel bad about it, and see how they can improve  such as this you've made me look at this one again and I can see what I would change, I wasn't happy with the amount of bank myself but didn't want to loose any of the bridge, but that said I can see of a way of improving the crop by going away from the standard aspect ratio that in all honesty I hadn't considered :bonk:

Oh Yea!

That could have been the interest in the corner  I could have done a wirewool spin if I'd still had the light painting stuff in, I'd moved it back into my own car, as my sister had come over from Ireland for a couple of days and I thought she was going to need the VW that I've been driving this week a.k.a mum's car :exit:

Day 58 - Tasty :woot:

This was one tasty subject to work with   and knowing the way that the hallowed :jaffa: is considered around these part's I though that this would be liked on here

So for all the members especially to those green named types  here is a :jaffa: that I've enjoyed this evening :D

It's been quite a stressful day today and honestly I don't think that I've had day's much worse than this :(

To top it off I couldn't even get outside once I had the time because it was raining :( so it was a good thing I had this little indoor project

Day 60 - Golden Light

Today has been the hardest Day of my life, to be honest this year has been the worst start of a year I've ever had...

Here you see my local church, actually anyone that's even vaguely familiar with my challenges will be more than aware that I love this building and have taken many photo's of it...you can see it here in a wonderful golden light that we had for this evening

This was shot with my 8mm fish eye hence the little bit of curvature seen here

Hi Matt. I'm liking the snowdrops and the crocus you did previously (i'm a gardener), have started this year to go round my own garden once a week and photograph everything new that has appeared.
Not that keen on the curvature of the church though, its a personal thing.
Lovely looking church and grounds too.

Hi Phil, The curvature that you get from a fish eye is an acquired taste that for sure  I'm just one of those people that loves a fish eye, but there are a lot out there that don't hence why we don't all have one in the camera bag, I can promise that you will see a few more flower photo's later in the year as I love them myself

It's a great church, hopefully I will be in the mood to go out more with my camera in the coming day's/week's time will tell...

Matt

Thanks Simon, I'm pleased that you can see the improvement I've made since the very beginning  I've learnt so much since joining up to TP, thought I do maybe spend a little too much time on here
