I took delivery of my new trigger yesterday  just need to work out how to program it

Ha Ha! Hand it to your little niece.......These young uns know instantly how to work all mod cons :D :D :D

Day 45 - A Spring in thier step :D

This afternoon I went out with the specific intention of finding a sign of spring, well on a main road I noticed a field with some spring lambs in it, so I went looking for a field I could park near to try and get some photo's

I decided to keep the ISO low to try and capture that sense of excitement that spring lambs always seem to have so effectively panning, which is only the second time I've tried panning and a first on something with legs

Me too! I want to get back to shoot motocross and practice my skills but everytime I try, it's either cancelled or something crops up to stop me going:bang:

"Day 45 - Fast Food".......Too fast for your panning skills , not a bad try though:thumbs:

I think they were a bit concerned that I'd taken a jar of mint sauce with me

Really creative and very different, Matt. I like it.
Out of interest, where was it taken? Sure I've been through on a narrowboat at some point!

Day 47 - Sky Ablaze

This evening I paid a trip to a local landmark a favourite of many photographers including myself, I think I may have with this photo got myself the photo that I've been trying to get for a number of months to put onto a canvas in my lounge :D

This is a 30 second exposure at f/8 made possible with the use of my B&W ND110 filter  I deliberately under exposed the image as I knew that with this one I wanted to the windmill in silhouette

love the bridge spin - how did he do it - dangle him off the back?

I see the windmill survived! Cracking shot.

The bridge shot is awesome Matt.
Todays would look lovely on canvas.

Thanks Michael, I really love the bridge spin it was a really fun evenings work  I'm hoping that it will as I'm going to order it tomorrow

Thanks Lynton, as to how it was done quite easily  the location has a lock right behind it so there was a convenient place for him to stand, and spin while I fired his camera and also mine wirelessly

Indeed the windmill has survived

Like I said on Flickr, that sunset shot is spectacular. I love the sky with those vivid colours made all the better by a long exposure!

Day 48 - The end or the beginning....

2002 was the year that I finished compulsory education  so it was the end, but it was also a beginning for me  I also love coins though in this case I know exactly where this coin has been I brought this coin brand new and it's lived in my personal collection ever since :D

Nice exposure Matt, not to sure about the DOF running off think it may be better just straight overhead shot, or more acute angle of view

Thanks Dave, I see what you mean about the DoF  my idea was to highlight the year  maybe that was a bad idea  :bonk:

Day 49 - Speedy Saturday

Your supposed to have more time at the weekends yet today I didn't seem to stop at all :( so I grabbed 10 minutes and went off to my local church to have a go with my ND110 and this was the result, I find this image rather pleasing, I think that it is one of my best from my village church to date

Yes I could see that was your intention Matt, maybe a lower angle, with it being more a overhead shot, doesnt suit the DOF in my opinion it would be better all sharp

Like the church shot Matt, fab movement in the sky, for me I would crop to the darker tree, and go more for an L shape comp putting the church off centre

I actually hand the coin propped up on another coin to take the shot  it was quite a balancing act  Well I now have another coin project to take a photo of in the not to distant future, I've finally put together the entire set of the shield collection from 2010/11 :woot: I'm also trying to collect all of the Olympic 50p's for a photo :D

I can see what you mean about the crop Dave but for me it makes the church to central in frame

Matt

Love the cloud movement in the church pic. Did you order a canvas of the windmill?

Thanks Michael :D IMO it's the cloud movement that helps to make that image

I've not ordered it yet, I'm doing a final edit of it, triple checking for stuff like dust spots etc, also thanks to a windows update and me not realising for 24 hours I also had to re-edit it because the one for the challenge is a lot darker now since recalibrating my screen :bonk:

Matt

Cool. What lens do you use your filter on? Is it just on wide angle shots?

I use my ND110 only on my 17-85mm  I brought the filter because it was the size for my lens and a good price  ideally I would have liked a 77mm for future proofing but couldn't resit it when I saw it for sale  If you've never had a play with one you should  they give you a whole new image from the same scene

Matt

I keep thinking about one, the largest thread I have is 72mm on my 200mm 2.8. I might see if someone at focus on imaging will do a good price on one.

What day you going to focus?

Love the cloud movement in the church shot!! I need to work on my long exposures I never seem to be able to get it to go that well :/ I am very jealous :P

Thank you, I'm pleased with it  it's come out well in this one, it takes a bit of getting used to, mostly looking out for suitable times to use long exposure :bonk: but keep at it

yeah I saw that. My brother will taking us as he wants to go and tuesday is the only day he can do.

Thats a shame, hopefully you'll both have a good day
