Pain is an artists reward for presenting quality....

Indeed...so it's a good job that it paid off

Where you heading for....a London walkabout...????

I'm not sure on the exact location currently I'm waiting for confirmation of the address of my brother-in-law, I know it's just off the last but one junction of the M1 so north-west London, but I'm considering once we've finished work heading out to do a few photo's but that will not be till early Sunday morning, I just need to find out about the congestion charge as last time I was down it cost me 120 as I cocked up my payment :bang:

Day 61 - All in the cast

Taken this evening standing on the old Barford bridge, just south of Warwick, in the very heart of Warwickshire, loving fishing I stood and watched this chap fishing for about 10 minutes, and since the light was quite nice with the sun on my back I decided that this would make a nice scene for today's photo...

This is a single exposure with simple adjustments to levels in PSE Raw then cropped, I've done a lot of HDR and Tone mapping recently so I though it was about time to give my brain a little more of a work out and process an images from a single file

Some lovely shots but the RSC and the cake triptych are something special.

Thanks Tony, I'm trying  I have to say that the RSC shot was inspired by my good friend Gary Randall who's photography I love  and the cake one I thought given the type it would be rather appropriate for TP

I hope that your enjoying your own challenge

CC not in force at the weekend Matt..if you get a chance try highgate cemetary.....need to get there myself this year sometime......

Nice, thanks for that great piece of info Simon in that case I think that I'm going to at least go at take a look

Matt

Quite liking today's too Matt. I may have been tempted to zoom in slightly more and miss the couple of branches on the right and even some of the debris in the water on the left though. Lovely light there today though.

Thanks :D I think maybe it would work to crop a tiny bit off but I was trying to avoid going into being a 50/50 crop that I didn't want  but the light was wonderful this evening

Day 62 - Curvaceous

I really would like to say this was original not done before, but in reality in January I was in this same location, that time I wasn't totally happy with the light that I was getting, and to be honest tonight didn't yield the light that I was expecting....

I have been waiting! Nice stuff. How long was the exposure here?
Like the curved slipway adding interest instead of just a straight road. No blues?

I'd like to say I could order blue's but that tends to get you in trouble if you try that trick  this was a 91 second exposure at ISO100 using my 8mm fish eye, it's a great location but the light just wasn't playing ball for me how I wanted this evening, I hope to get my mojo back soon as it's really been taken out of me with recent events :( I'm finding myself just aimlessly driving about with no desire to stop and take a photo or inspiration as to what to take :shake:

Matt

not...youre not wrong there matt... as some of my own 366 have proven even to me..

 I know, your doing such a great job with your challenge though  it amazes me each time I call in

Day 63 - More Curves

Continuing the curvaceous theme from yesterday's light trail today you see what remains of the spiral staircase at Someries Castle near to Luton, this was taken with my 8mm fish eye lens

Processing I decided to go for a really contrasty B&W conversion

Love the angle on that shot. Really nice different POV.

Thanks Tony, it's opportunities like this where the FE is so useful

Cracking angle on the staircase Matt, the contrasty b+w really works well.

Thanks Michael  I thought that it made for and interesting angle and this PP just seems the right thing from the very start

Day 64 - Daffy's come out to play

If you can call something that you've done for only two years a tradition then this is a tradition for me  as this is the first daffodil to make itself available for photography as part of my challenge

64/366 (429) by mwhcvt, on Flickr

I was hoping that I was going to have some photo's of London to pick out my POTD today but after a fruitless drive around for 2.5 hours after finishing our disco last night myself and thedodo (Darrell) decided it was time to head home, I managed to get home eventually, but not till 7am :bang: and with not a single photo taken, but we now have plenty of plans for out next visit

Lovely Daff Matt, nice and colourful. Still waiting for mine to open in the garden, only got one so far.

I've only got this one showing currently Michael ;) so don't worry mate :)

Liking the daff too Matt. Makes me as a gardener excited for the year ahead. I'm only after posting a few in the nature section too.

Thanks Phil, it's one of my passions when coming to photography, is to take pictures of the flowers the colours are so vibrant and diverse, but as you say at this time of year it shows nature coming back to life/waking up

Day 65 - Windy Windmill

This afternoon I went up to the windmill just to have a got at time lapse but I thought that this view was too good to pass up making it my POTD  it's actually be nearly 3 weeks since I last visited the windmill, that's a personal record in recent months

65/366 (430) by mwhcvt, on Flickr

And the reason for going up to the windmill today, almost one and quarter hours in less that half a minute

The windmill is a lovely pic Matt, nice work on the time lapse.

Thanks Michael, it's a wonderful windmill  I love it up there though often I don't walk this far up simply because I normally go for the sunset which as can be seen from the photo is not in the right position to be looking at the front of the windmill :bang:

I guess I'll just have to drag my lazy arse out of bed early one morning and do a sunrise from up there

I'm pleased you like the time lapse it's only my second attempt and the first was just my back garden to test that I'd set the trigger correctly  it's not even made it off the computer

Matt

A sunset would be well worth getting up by the looks of things. I have been wanting to do a timelapse since I got my timer remote, and not had any chances yet. Did you get to focus btw?

Nope, I've had a bit of family issue recently and then with work I didn't get back from London till 7am on Sunday morning :bang: if you check out my signature there is a link to a star trails meet at the windmill that I'm putting together  I'd estimate it's about an hour from you so it may be something to consider

Matt

Cheers for the link Matt, will pop over and subscribe to it so I can check out the updates.

No worries, it should be a really nice meet, if a little bit of a pain to put togeather because of having to wait for good weather

I just realised, I haven't posted on here for ages!
Some great shots recently, especially the most recent one of the windmill. Really like the timelapse too!

That timelapse is stunning mate

Thanks Mate :D

Day 66 - The Road Home

I found this new location few days ago, so this evening I went over there with thedodo (Darrell) to try is out, all I can say is wow, and it was all the more wonderful by the simply stunning sky that we had this evening  :woot:

Now that looks great Matt, excellent sky, and I like the road layout there. A great find by the looks of it.

The road layout there is a little mad  but it makes for a great location  as you say though it's the sky that really makes it

Matt

That fisheye is fantastic:thumbs:,works so well, you done so well to get a good trail on the road we were parked on, as by the time i was using the similar angle the traffick along there was almost non-existant:thumbs:

Thanks mate, I did have to run slightly longer than I normally would to get what I wanted  it's worked a treat as a location with the FE though :woot:
