Hi Michael, quick off the mark today! I ran out in the rain as well, not checked them yet though.
1 is a little dull for me, sorry the litter bin alone dies t do it for me!
2 is so clear, I love the reflection but I think it's a little to clear, a few ripples would add a little extra interest for me.
3 is my favourite shot of the set. Everything fits really well and the Union Jack umbrella really ties it all up nicely, well caught.
4 is really good, but a bit of a cheat![]()
I really like number 3 and 4/The first one for me, definitely all about liquid, and the title makes it complete.
I also like the reflection shot but it looks to be a bit slanted to my eyes.
Cheers!
#3 is the stand out image of the set for me Michael.
It has great depth to it, leading the viewers eye in and through the scene.
Lovely subtle colour tones to it, with the union flag umbrella really making the scene.
For me it tells a story of the day, typical UK weather. Good work![]()

Ooh, now that I like a lot! Fantastic sky, wonderful silhouette, then those shiny leading lines (train tracks?). Utterly gorgeous, very dramatic.
Michael - Straight re-shoot - Great, one of those "less is more" compositions. Works for me!
Hi, Michael, Liquid edit for me. Liking the composition, clarity and B&W works a treat. Just the folk upper left....wonder how long they were there...
Straight reshoot, works for me. The tracks really pop out of the dark BG. What looks like a smalish hot spot in the sky and maybe a shade off the top to focus the eye on the lines. Overall,
Cheers.
Hi michael,
liquid - just to be different #1 is my fav though with maybe a tiny bit off the top - we have seen plenty of rain like that recently!!
reshoot - a great shot, using the welding glass makes it for me - that sky is great!!![]()
very sharp, good colour and tone and excellent focus. Both on theme for me and would go with #2 becase comp is better and i am a little queasy about the bare belly on #1 - it looks so raw.
. great exposure, lines running towards the brightness in the sky, the silhouettes - good reshootTime, very well caught, nice bit of motion blur in the blades, and fits the theme perfectly
Body, all good, but I think the first one has to be it.
Liquid, wow, you did well with that little lot, bet you got soaked. I prefer Rubbish Weather 2, the brolly in the background really helps it.
hi Michael
Trying to catch up - you set a fierce pace for my laggardly self.
Dark - Like both although they are both a bit grey. Good technique on both - probably would go with #2, altho the top left is a bit distracting - you have explained why you left it in.
Time - very good shots which tell a tale, altho for me the theme is not that obvious
Body - excellent shotsvery sharp, good colour and tone and excellent focus. Both on theme for me and would go with #2 becase comp is better and i am a little queasy about the bare belly on #1 - it looks so raw.
Liquid - good shots in the circumstances. #3 for me because I like the wider angle, the super muted colours, the movement in the rain and the people top right looking at the rain, almost in desperation.
straight re shoot -. great exposure, lines running towards the brightness in the sky, the silhouettes - good reshoot
Straight is one of my favourite pics of the year and this project.Straight reshoot is very nice the sky is amazing! How long was your exposure?
hi Michael
Liquid.....love the reflection in the 2nd shot for Liquid....beautiful image in B&W , crystal clear....straight is better, losing the 2 onlookers would've been the icing on the cake but you may not have had control over that
Fabulous reshoot for Straight.....I'm viewing on a very small netbook screen so can't see the whole image but the horizonhs does seem rather central which shouldn't work but it does, for me at least. Great in mono, love the clouds, very slightly lighter patch rhs where the lines come together but thats only minor crit.....framed & large on the wall me thinks![]()

I have to say you've inspired me to sort a few of mine out!
It makes a real change to see these display from the crowd line, I'm normally watching from the ATC tower! It's not the same!
Ooh arrows! I love those guys. Fantastic shot, definitely says "up"!
I've shot them a few times now and I know what you mean about the lighting, it's a nightmare. What I found was that with the dodgiest shots a bit of high-contrast B&W PP did wonders![]()
Hi, Michael, second plane submission....poplar. I actually thought about a long exposure of planes taking off at Leeds and Bradford Airport but think the cloudy sky may prevent this :shake:
Now yours, composition is great and the colours on the trails, as Marsha says, just the touching planes.
Cheers.
