Depends on availability, I think. Give them a call or just look on the site? What is the lend time for canon despatching, and delivering a lens ?
reason I ask is that I am off to a air show on Saturday 06th Sept
If the battery grip is the same one used for the R5, I would not buy it as it doesn’t mirror the buttons exactly and means muscle memory is compromised. I have the grip, I just never use it.Has anyone got both a R1 and an R5 mk2?
I've moved from a 1Dx 2 series mirror to the R5 mk 2 but I'm regretting not going for the 1 series body and am thinking of trading up.
Trouble is I'll be taking a big hit on the R5 mk2, WEX are only offering me £2450, and I can't decide whether I should just buy the battery grip!!
Comments appreciated!!
Thanks, George.
Thanks Linda but I've decided that I'll just carry a couple of spares with me as the likelihood of me needing to shoot through a whole battery is remote and I'll be saving the weight when carrying it!!If the battery grip is the same one used for the R5, I would not buy it as it doesn’t mirror the buttons exactly and means muscle memory is compromised. You will love it Dale it’s the best I have ever had but then I love the mk1 for my macroIt took a week or so longer than I anticipated but it's on its way, ordered my R5ii today.
Panamoz at. £2780 is a great deal!!!It took a week or so longer than I anticipated but it's on its way, ordered my R5ii today.
There's a specific forum for price checks on here. If you check the forum lists you should be able to find itHi guys. I'm about to sell a 5D Mk2 with a couple of lenses and bits and pieces. I'm not really sure what price I could be asking for. Am I allowed to ask here what the overall price should be if I post photos?

Happy Birthday and congrats
And makes no difference as Canon will still let you register it as the owner. It just means Canon UK won’t do warranty repairs, but that’s why the 3 year warranty is supplied. Also check the serial no with the Canon UK link, which probably won’t prove much other than it was not intended for sale in the UK.
I wonder when/ if there will be the major firmware update which was rumoured for months to address the battery and AF alleged issues?Who said it was or wasn't Panamoz?
Firmware is version 1.1.1.
Can you just download the Canon processing software? Is anyone using the Canon processing software?
I used it for a couple of years quite happily before going to Adobe Camera Raw, and with Adobes latest shenanigans, I’m considering my options.
Adobes latest shenanigans, ...... have I missed something ! ?Is anyone using the Canon processing software?

Dale, you may be already aware of this but just in case you're not the Neewer batteries work very well and are much cheaper than the Canon ones.Who said it was or wasn't Panamoz?

Last time I download canon software I believe I had to input a camera serial number, or my canon membership number...Can you just download the Canon processing software?

I've bought both and frankly can't tell the difference in performance.
I think you can now download without any serial no. Go to Canon UK support.Thank you

I’ll be interested to see how you get on with bird photography on the R5ii compared with the R7. You will lose the crop obviously but it should be better to crop from the R5ii images and the noise should be lower.
Time to save for the 100-500mm f4.5-7.1 L IS USM RF Lens?

Haven’t they announced they’re no longer selling the annual membership via 3rd parties? They insist I add a payment method before the end of my subscription?Adobes latest shenanigans, ...... have I missed something ! ?
I preferred the small rig cages to the L bracket Dale as it covers all my needsI think I need an L bracket now as well as a nice wrist strap, for security on walkarounds.
Any recommendations please?
I have a R7 I looked a generic DSLR L brackets on Amaz*n of which there plenty ranging from £8 to £25I think I need an L bracket now as well as a nice wrist strap, for security on walkarounds.

Beauty of the generic one is will fit my R7 or any other camera I may get in the future. The side plate has lots of mounting holes which I will use to mount Rode Mic's, clamps for power packs for my mobile which I mount in the hot to capture video while take stills. Really good for air shows, motorsport etc.
L Brackets, look at Pig Iron, Camolo, Harwerrel, all arca swiss
If you currently have CC 20gb subscription you should be able to switch to the annual plan just before your current subscription expires. You will not get the Amazon type discounts but it will equate to just under £10pm.Haven’t they announced they’re no longer selling the annual membership via 3rd parties? Not something I keep on the camera but I bought Pig Iron one earlier this year for my R6, it is fine.I think I need an L bracket now as well as a nice wrist strap, for security on walkarounds.

Depending on your requirements for screen use you may want to check out pictures, reviews etc of the bracket in use with the screen.I think I need an L bracket now as well as a nice wrist strap, for security on walkarounds.

I ended up with an Ulanzi specific one for my R7 as the generic ones have a slot on the upright arm where you have feed in the screen if you like using it to the side. For me this seemed fiddly, didn't allow full movement of the screen plus I could imagine damaging the screen as you manoeuvred it into position.
The body shape of the R5 may not create these issues. I think I did a review for a FB group of brackets (albeit for the R7). If this might be of interest I'll see if I can dig it out and post it
