and am now looking for my mechanical)
Disaster is certainly not a word I would use - I really like that!
The blurring may be a little heavy, but it works, as it helps to focus in on the man with the barrow and away from the 'modern' people in the shot. I think the processing is really good.
I look forward to seeing your shot for Week 8![]()
thanksGotta be the first shot of the inside of the drum... Well thought out and taken... prefer the mono contrasty version. The motor is just that...
Glad you're still here, well done for sticking at it![]()
Second shot of the drum for me Bob and no more talk of giving up - you're coming on leaps and bounds.
Oh and beware washing machine motors - I had one bite me once - not a pleasant experience I can tell you!!:shake:
thanks1st shot of the drum for me, the mono version is good but the splashes of colour on the first add to the abstractness of the shot.

Glad to hear it !!!!
And this is the best week from you so far.
I love the abstract nature of your washing machine drum shot, and it's surprising what a difference the contrasty B&W conversion has made.
Nicely done with the reflections too - it would have been so easy to totally blow all those highlights.
p.s. Just don't let the neighbours see you with your head shoved inside the machine![]()

Hi Bob, I love the B/W version of the washing machine drum. It's a clever idea.
Jenny
Glad to hear it Bob.
Well I had changed the brushes on the motor, put the thing back together only to find the drum not rotating. Now the next bit is a little fuzzy (and you will see why), but I noticed the drum belt had slipped off so I lent into the back of the machine not realising it was now plugged in and my arm connected with the (unprotected :razzpower terminals.
I promptly received a severe electric shock. Long story short - I drove myself to hospital, had a few ECG's and found I had dislocated my shoulder when I pulled myself out of the blasted thing. Was going on holiday the next morning as well - got me out of carrying the bags though). That was nearly 5 years ago - till have a nasty scar that looks like a plug socket!

Well done Bob. Lighting isn't bad, exposure is good and you've added some interest with the words and sigGood effort.
Love it, the colours realy pop and its a nice simple image without lots of distractions. Nice one.
