3 for me too. First guess got me a single y which converted to a g with the next guess, along with 2 more gs which made the y that also turned up effectively a g. Only 1 letter fitted (that I could see) the 4th gap.

I think most here would agree “PINEY” was hard … maybe even ridiculous!

4 today. Only one word would fit after my 3rd … though SCOREDLE says there are are 4 others, none of which I recognise as valid :(.

All 6 today (but still a solve!) yy, yyyg, yyyg, total blank (tried 5 fresh letters in hope!), yggg, head scratching to see what first letter fitted!

Doing the NYT “letterboxed” today I was stuck trying to enter HOAX to finish but found it unavailable and ended up typing HOX and entered it for no good reason but it was accepted! Apparently it means “hamstring” (hock?j!

Point of posting here? The plural HOXES is accepted by WORDLE — before you complain, it’s in bl00dy Shakespeare.

A 2 for me today. First guess got me xxgyy and a minute's cogitation saw the solution jump out.

5 today 2G 1Y, 3G then just so many choices for the first two letters 3G, 3G, 5G.

A bit of a struggle today but got there in 5, 1G 1Y, 2G, 2G, 3G, 5G I just couldn't find the consonants.

4 for me this morning. xyyxy converted to xgyyx which became ygyyx. The ys were effectively greens so I just had to fill in the blank.
