    Woolacombe

We stayed in Ilfracombe last summer, which has a lovely little harbour. There are hills all around it so you can get some lovely shots looking down onto it, especially around dusk when the lights are lit. We also went to Coombe Martin wildlife and dinosaur park and Clovelly (again, a nice little...

Institute Of Photography - Course Discussion

I signed up a few months back. I've done the first 3 modules (pretty basic stuff) but i'm not planning to start the proper stuff until my youngest starts school in September. I want to be able to give it my attention, rather than have to wait until the kids are all in bed in the evenings .

    The cheek!

Thanks guys :) Found out they had a dedicated button to report copyright infringement, so i reported it. Have had an email today to say they have removed it from their server. Slightly worrying though, they have said that they have notified the person who originally uploaded it and if that...

    The cheek!

Yep, 100% sure. Mine has 3 distinct hearts within each other, in a certain place in a certain book. I've never seen another one with 3 hearts, let alone done in the same place in the same book. If that wasn't enough, it was shot with my wedding ring, and if you look closely you can see the...

    The cheek!

I was bored a few nights ago so i was doing a reverse image search on some of my photos that are on Flickr. I came across a heart shadow shot that i did for valentines day on a site called We heart it (a bit like pinterest, Tumblr etc). All the versions of it on there linked back to a Flickr...

Anyone been to see the red squirrels at Snaizeholme?

We are headed up north for a camping trip at the beginning of August and my sister, who lives up near where we are staying, has told me about the red squirrel viewing hide at Snaizeholme. Has anyone been? I'd like some idea of how likely i am to see the squirrels, how far the feeding station is...

    The Great Meteorological Thread

I'm not going to complain about the heat or the mugginess. I just wish it would decide what its going to do first thing, rather than changing halfway through the day! I never know what to wear, and my washing bins are full from the whole family changing clothes halfway through the day .

    Blue Tits

At my parents' house we have had various birds nesting in random places . We once had a bag hanging just outside the back door containing my brother's geology equipment. A blackbird decided this would be a good place to build a nest :/ At the time my Mum was a smoker, so was in and out of...

My two are called Pixie and Panda (bet you can't guess what colour Panda is ). He looks like a Bertie to me :)

Think i've lost my way a bit

I've been looking back on some of my old photos on Flickr. Some of them are crap, actually alot of them are  But what struck me about them is that most of them were creative. Then i look at my more recent photos which are, for the most part, technically better, and i wonder where my...

Photoshopping 'defects' on children- your thoughts

I think if you'd have just taken it upon yourself to edit out his "flaws" then that would be a problem. But if the mother asked you to do it then it is her that has the questionable morals, not you ;) My 3rd child had very thin blonde hair and a very noticeable strawberry nevous birthmark on...

Argos customer service going down hill

I bought my husband a ring for his birthday from Argos about 9 years ago. We were flying off to Florida for two weeks and flying back on his birthday. The ring was an impulsive last minute buy, just so i had something small that he could open on the plane. I knew that it would be too big, but...

    The Great Meteorological Thread

Spent the day strolling along Hastings seafront with the Husband's family. The children kept moaning that they were too hot. I had to shush them quick, incase the sun heard them and decided to go back in . Loving it, evening if my arms are looking distinctly pink ;)
