I personally think secondhand lenses are an absolute gem - most are bargains. I do buy my cameras new - picked up a bargain Sony A850 recently from Currys. But the rest of it - someone else can pay the depreciation thanks!!
 
I used to be a robber. The major haul I made was sigma factory a few years back :D .

But only ever for money.

I don't have a fantastic salary either but agree having time off compensates to a certain extent.
You must be pretty fit eh.(Edit, that didn't come over the way I meant it:lol:) You never see an overweight dancer.;) My old gran (god rest her) danced until she was in her nineties, then she hurt an ankle and went down hill in a few years. Dancing was her life. I wish I had joined classes years ago.:shrug: Never found the time. My fitness isn't what it should be. I'd still give those two UFC:p;) guys a run for their money though. Especially if they were chasing me. :D:exit:

Ah yes! I'm a firefighter now after serving as a motor vehicle tech for eight years. Three years to go and counting.:cool:

I'm a risk manager for a large UK private wealth management firm. A lot of my job involves protecting the firm and it's clients from losing money. Fortunately the last financial crisis made my profession a lot more valuable, but I am happy where I am for now. I also became a weekend warrior last year, which helps pay for the camera gear and provide an additional source of income.

Biologist for a pest control company. Gives me plenty of opportunities to take piccies of unwelcome beasties.
