only stating what someone told me about the make of car cos an interest was shown, by those I quoted.
You can pick up a 12 yo old for a few hundred, a classic would cost a damn sight more to buy and maintain.
TBH I don't really care, it's now up to the courts in October to find out what and why.

People probably said the same about the real Minis, Beetles and FIAT 500s. Go to practically any "classic" car show and there's all sorts of modern crap being shown as classics.

Aww come on. We realise you have teeny tiny blue ovals running through your veins but I'm sure even you have to admit the "older" car in question is in all likelihood one if these Fusions.
And there's no getting away from how fugly they are.

Only because they are surprisingly quick. I had one for a days testing at work a few years back. I even confused a couple of blokes in a Mini Cooper (BMW) with their jaws on the floor because they couldn't believe how quick it was. ;)

Yup exactly. How anyone can describe that as classic is beyond me. Hence I was wondering whether there is someone else involved?

I didn't say anything about engine or speed.
It's FUGLY. Even its mother would be hard pressed to love it :-)

Agreed but at least it has age at its side, and it was truly bad which the fusion isn't. It is relatively modern, not bad at all, just incredibly plain and boring.

However, trying to go back to the topic, either someone has a warped view on what is a classic, or another vehicle was involved, or the news report was just plain wrong and didn't check its facts. If I was a betting man I know where my money is.

Btw not a good week for Britain. First this and now a chap trying to sell his laptop on gumtree being stabbed to death. Very sad.

I'd lay odds on the press jumping to the wrong conclusion at the mention of old :(
I drive an older car through choice, don't worry when some chips it in a car park as long as
it works ok I'll hang onto it

Back in the 80's I knew a girl who's Dad bought her an old Anglia estate as a run about. When asked what she had got first she described it as a dark blue car, when asked what make it was she just said, "You know, one of them long ones". Yes she was blonde. :)
