Weird sarnie fillings.

Hmmm yum like that one. I also like a toastie with frank further sausage and ketchup.

Thats just a hotdog in regular bread instead of a bun

I could always put a raw egg on top :p and some piccalilli

Oooooh piccalilli....

Ok so I officially hate you lot :bat:

After reading this thread I remembered one of my favs, Fishfingers and tomato ketchup, knew I had some
fish fingers in the freezer, but no ketchup and all the shops closed

What about petrol station? One nearest me has a full deli section attached :D

When I was ill, Mrs Nod would make me sarnies that were easy to eat - fish fingers were ideal since the sarnies could be cut into soldiers then down to cubes, making them neat little squares which made thought redundant while eating them! The ketchup and tartare sauce kept the fingers stuck to the bread.

NO NO NO!

Fishfinger sandwiches have to have salad cream in them! :D

What is it with fishfinger sandwiches?

I don't get it at all.
I mean, fishfingers already come with a coating of breadcrumbs . . . why would you want to add yet more bread to the outside of that?

You mean you've never tried one  , go on give yourself a treat :D

Agreed (and yes I have tried them.)
And there is no substitute for a chip butty either (while we are on this particular line of thought)

The Venison we got out for a Sunday dinner did go off :( so I'll be going out for some take away. Sure MacDonalds wins the top price for weird sarnie doesn't?

Did it run away then? :p
I didn't think venison "could go off" the smellier the better, so I've heard.
Personally, I don't like it though.

Possibly. Didn't want to risk it. The texture and smell acted like a big warning to me. I eat meat happily raw, but that I wouldn't eat cooked well done.

Not even with a raw oeuf on top?

(You know you are never going to be allowed to forget that don't you? :D )

Long story but about ten years ago I had a plate of fish paste and strawberry jam sandwiches at my wedding reception. They weren't as bad as they sound but not something I've gone out of my way to eat since.

OK I'm locking the thread here.
I think we've officially found the weirdest sandwich filling ever!

(I'm guessing that wasn't a deliberate decision)

A mates sister calls me Ferris after a character from the film sex lives of the potato men, in the film he was eating fish paste and strawberry jam sandwiches. I've got no idea why she called me ferris, she did and it's stuck with me for ten years.

In my first job, umpteen and a bit years ago, I used to enjoy a fried egg, fried onion and brown sauce roll from the greasy spoon across the road from the office. It was never quite the same after they were forced to clean up by the environmental health officer.

Recently I tried peanut butter, banana and ham in a toasted sandwich and that was ok. Can't beat a boiled egg and Bovril sarnie though, still my favourite.

OK...trying that :)

Chop the eggs in a bowl and stir in Bovril to suit your taste, I normally use a dessert spoon as I love the stuff. First time t'missus tried making one for me she sliced the eggs and spread the Bovril on the bread, wasn't the same at all.
