WCMUT....what cheered me up today

DAMN! should I tell them?

Nope but change your location from "Land of the Concrete Cows" to " Land of the Luddites" :)

A technical hitch with Mrs Nod's car being diagnosed and the prescription delivered in a 2 minute phone call!

Finally getting a Physio referral after spending the last couple of weeks bored silly.
Got referred by my boss today and have an appointment on Wednesday :)

Frikandel special (curried ketchup, frite sauce and raw onions), with Chips Oorlog (satay sauce, frite sauce).

Hmm love the internet and foreign food imports.

Only had to see that bit...now tomorrow I'm going to have to make Frikadeller!

WCMUT: Got some feedback at work suggesting that I was a bit too nice and should not be afraid to push more. Hehehe I'm liking the private sector, haven't heard that in years (on the contrary). Don't worry the beast will be unleashed :)

Getting round the second time with a lower score than the first. It's only a 9 hole course but has a few extra tees to ring the changes. Probably won't be able to walk tomorrow, especially since the sodding cart battery ran out on the 17th tee!

Seeing the Caracal kit at Wingham. :-)

Great stuff. I'ts a great world and very spevial.

10 years ago today, I was in my 3rd month in a cardiac ward after 4 MIs which I had (luckily) in A&E after having suffered a bad and persistent chest infection which I caught in in China in the January, which meds/anti biotics didn't touch. After 105 days in hospital with a triple CABG, I walked out on my own 2 feet. Since then I try to see the beauty of our world and despite the Knob Head Factor, the majority of people I meet are good and caring. I have always been impressed by the kindness of strangers.

So Nod - plan a party for all the TP peeps, loads of beer and a medley of grub - it will be great to drink your health on the occassion of your 100th Birthday ;-). Everyone is invited to my 100th - in 39 years....

Everyone's cordially invited to my 4th (re)birthday on September 6th or 7th (depending on how fast we get from Chania to Agia Galini). Whatever happens, we'll be eating supper at the Agia Galini campsite restaurant/taverna (enormously fat chef - always a good sign!) on the 6th and we'll be at George's beachside hut/bar/taverna for lunch on the 7th (and 6th if we get down there in time!)

More cheering up today in the form of a delicious burger and chips for lunch, followed by a Devon toffee fudge ice cream "99" for afters.

Once a King, always a King but once a (K)night is enough (at my great age!)

Getting paid :)

Watching the sunrise on Skiathos......:)

......and not having a hangover (y)

Kaliméra, Heather! Stick to the local plonk and the hangovers should stay at bay (as long as overconsumption isn't too extreme!) The island wine makers don't use chemicals on their vines so they don't trickle down into the final product and poison the imbiber.

Chips Oorlog? Is that War Chips/Crisps? :)

(Oorlog is war in Afrikaans, I assume it's derived from Dutch).

Seeing a large selection of classic cars and bikes (with a fair few rather less-than-classic vehicles lobbed in for super cheapo entry to the show! balance...), combined with a very tasty hog roast bap and a surprisingly good cup of coffee. Just need to whittle the shots down and shrink them to fit before posting.

Indeed its called Patat Oorlog because Fritesaus and Satay sauce 'fight' with each other from a taste perspective.

WCMUT: Just walking back home from a long walk with my dog and daughter, and we hear this sound. It is scary, wonderful and amazing. And yup the vlogger son of one of our neighbours got a new toy (he likes his cars); a black Lamborghini Huracan LP640-4. What an amazing vehicle, absolutely stunning.

Here's hoping he gets more use out of it than my former boss did out of his Aventador.
Mind you, there are few things as amusing as watching a 60 year old man getting in and out of the thing. :D

LOL I can imagine, you should have seen me get out of a BMW i8, I had to get my hand on the ground and crawl out :(

Sounds about the same JP.
Not so much getting out as pouring yourself out.

Almost needed a pry bar to get me out of an Elise a few years back (and a crane to lift me out of an F3 car!)

The knowledge we have booked our summer holiday. The view from my office is decidedly wet :) And thundery.

Gardening :).....until the rain.

Thinking I'd played badly but still scoring under 50 shots. Only just (and 49's not really a good score!) but I'm reasonably happy with it. Got round dry as well.

WCMUT?

1) Turning right, into a side road, from the "main" road, facing a road narrow chicane type thing, 30 mph limit, ( its by a line of shops with a zebra crossing half way along)
and quite vicious speed bumps either end., that I wouldn't attempt at 15mph in my 4x4.

Its less than a 100 yards long, but once a car is over the first ramp, there is plenty of time to make the right turn, assume the car is a) doing 30 or less, and b) actually brakes for the second ramp.
Its a regular occurrence for cars to speed up, to clear the second ramp, making the right turn, "unsafe"

What I learned today BMW's really bounce well when they hit the ramp at Gods knows what speed, its worth while waiting a few seconds just to see the passengers head hit the roof lining. :)

2) People turning right into any side turning, the look on their face is priceless, when you are positioned correctly for turning right out of said side turning,
And they think they should be allowed to cut the corner, by driving across "my side" of road ... excellent :)
