WCMUT....what cheered me up today

Congrats JP and Mrs JP.
One is punching above one's weight!! ;)

Spending money! I've just ordered another Sony Bluetooth Headset.
SBH20-gallery-image-01-0e3f1f7f241265efd90f0fcb0bbcb24e.jpg

I use one every day on the commute listening to podcasts. It makes the underground journey something to look forward to. My old one lasted years. And I don't like fiddling with long leads. Even though most people on the underground seem to manage.
The Bluetooth headset arrived yesterday and it's tiny. But the novelty is it is my first ever NFC device. I've just connected the phone to the headset. Switch on NFC on the phone and align the NFC logos printed on both devices. Only then will it connect and pair. You only need to do that once and it stays paired. So NFC offers a tiny benefit over normal connection. But any improvement is welcome.

WCMUT? Finding an old lottery ticket in my purse and discovering it owes me £120, two weeks before the deadline for claiming. :)
Kerching! a result :)

WCMUT - Sun is shining, lots of opportunities. Busy and exciting day ahead of us.

Knocking 9 shots off yesterday morning's score. Still not a good round but less crap than yesterday! Now all I need to do is drop another 9 shots (well, take 9 fewer shots, not drop them!) tomorrow and I'll be happy. (Actually, I'd be ecstatic!!!)

WCMUT: An Android app called 'Move to iOS' made by Apple :) I'm giving my daughter my iPhone 6+ as I basically didn't use it anymore in my current job (all is online Skype for business etc). Anyway migrating from her Wilefox Storm to my iPhone 6+ is as easy as running the app and sit back and relax. All messages, photes, equivalent applications all get downloaded and installed. Brilliant :)

WCMUT...just stuff :-)
There's more to pee me off right now, but I choose not to let it :-)

Email from BT telling me that my broadband connection has been upgraded, checked it and found that I've now got 52 mb download and 10 mb upload :-)

Finding a few books to take on holiday. 4 of the Reacher books (as recommended here) and 3 David Baldacci ones. Charity shop so if they're carp it doesn't really matter, the charity have got their wedge! What's the betting that I find more before we go but end up with duplicates of a couple? :D

Well don't leave us in suspense, which ones?! (And don't say "Scope" and "PDSA"!)

Bit off topic, but finished SImon Scarrows first "Under the Eagle"(Macro and Cato) yesterday. Not out and out action and maybe a bit too long, but enjoyed it. WIll try another at some point I think.

ELF actually! :P (Exeter Leukaemia Fund IIRC). Killing Floor, The Enemy, The Hard Way and 61 Hours . The DB ones are Split Second, True Blue and The Innocent. I tend to get through about a book per day and leave them over there (most places we stay have small libraries) for other guests (or me again since I always forget which I've read!!!)

I've read a couple of Scarrows and enjoyed them. I keep my eyes open for them in charity shops but they don't turn up that often.

They'll all pass the time when I have to lie on the beach (after a good meal, to avoid cramp!!!) I'll read pretty much any old crap on holiday.

On a fair few of them, yes! Free wi-fi (albeit slow) seems commoner there than it is here. No e-mail grabbing sign up either.

Top row, second one in from the right please :D

WCMUT? spending a very pleasant couple of hours, chewing the fat, putting the world to rights, and sharing donuts over coffee.

Boris withdrawing from the leadership race.

I can confirm that there is a God and he does listen to prayers!

I met the son of a contracting legend tonight!

An ex, brought her new boyfriend along to a meetup in a Bavarian beergarden tonight. He seemed like a nice chap. I got chatting. But when he said he'd worked in Indonesia in the 90's I asked him if he knew the contracting legend 'Dave Smith' * name changed.
Yes. That's my Dad!" He replied. I was gob smacked. His dad was a legend among contract designers who I'd worked with in the 90's. He even cited the story of when his father was at the famous incident of the stolen golden statue where a few of us were grilled by the police. A small world.

I'm not sure if this belongs in here or WAMT TBH.

After several emails to the CEO of Talk-Talk (Dido Harding) over the past year, trying to get a stable internet connection, it fluctuates wildly and often as low as
1Mb/s ( sometimes lower) The max I should get is 2.5 Mb/s.
After several emails over the past year it was reasonably stable at just under 3Mb/s. ( don't laugh no fibre here but it promised and has been promised for a good couple of years)
The last couple of weeks its been dropping to 1,25Mb/s
So Dido got the benefit of my wisdom via email yet again.
I'm now running at 3.9Mb/s that has to be some kind of record, well done Dido, you are back on my Christmas card list

Whilst in deepest rural Sussex I've just been upgraded to 55mbs, so glad I don't live in the sprawling metropolis of MK :p:LOL:
