WCMUT....what cheered me up today

After my regular etching company completely blanking me for my latest order, The day was saved by 4D Modelshop who were not only able to work with cad aimed at the other company, were able to price match them, do extra QC and processed and shipped the order on the same day, that's some seriously good service!

Listening to the news in the car about the new naval research vessel and the online poll to name it. The clear font runner in Boaty McBoatface! :D
Thanks for pointing that out. I've just reserved half a restaurant for Friday in the name Mr. McBoatface. The lady taking the reservation down was blissfully unaware as I spelled the name out.

Boaty McBoatface has currently 65,000 votes.

Only 2 days to work in the next 7 :D:banana::)

Work? :D

Personal service at the hotel this morning. I had to double check the time, but here I am in a central London very decent hotel and I am the only one for breakfast. Besides the staff obviously.

It's like I missed the memo to the party. But nice service though :)

Have a Google for Personal Services, JP... ;) Great film about a plucky lady!

Have to wait until I'm home or can enable my VPN ;)

Updating the iOS on my iPad2 !! According to El Reg they are bricking :(

Mine's OK after a little password problem got sorted out thanks to a very nice guy in my local Apple Store who spent a very patient 20 mins with me doing things for me and with me, and now all works just as it should :) AND yes it is an iPad2 having checked the model number on the back .

14 Stableford points despite 3 blobs.

Which will mean nothing to non golfers (and for those who do golf, it was 9 holes so not as bad as it looks!)

Wcmut learning about the existence of the BBQ shed. Hmm I think we can do with one of those in our garden.

Liking those mugs.

Homemade shepherds pie using lamb leftover from yesterday's hole roast leg.
Always fun to break out the old war time mincer. :D

Spong?

I used one of those yesterday to mince left over lamb for shepherds pie. (Which turned out delicious) but the poxy thing's rubber foot suction thing never grips for long and yesterday actually managed to fall off onto the floor mid-mince. Bloody thing.

Keep your kitchen mincing habits to yourself... :P

Mum's old (wartime) Spong had a clamp rather than a rubber suction foot, our rubber footed one only likes one particular section of our work surface, where it's unscratched.

Yes, Spong.
Mine has a clamp too. It's fan.
It was my Gran's.

He'd certainly be more manly than some I could think of.....even mincing. ;)

Only jesting Bill.

Wimmin don't vote, they veto. Woe betide the man who ignores a "NO!"... Even a "Maybe." means no and only a definite "YES.", ideally in writing (triplicate for preference...) can be taken as a definite yes.

WCMU today was chipping in for a birdie 3 which was a nett albatross. Lucky to have the wind behind me for the first 2 shots and even luckier to chip in - couldn't see the flag!

Taking Mrs Nod's car out for a bit of a run (and a nice pub lunch [for Mrs Nod and myself - the car was full {although it does have a prodigal thirst!!!}]) and getting the average MPG on the current tank up above 20 MPG.

WCMUT?

After several ( months of) emails to the CEO of the council, and being told an emphatic no,
they will not be trimmed, topped lopped or any other form of arboury ( is that a word?) carried out.
I came home today and found the second of the 60 odd feet trees that have been blocking the light from my garden for years,
has evaporated. ( The first disappeared a few weeks ago, the same day that I received the "final" no chance email.)

And this is the person in charge of MK council?

Still mustn't grumble I got result, even if I wasn't supposed to :D

Spoiled, you are.

Spoiled, you are.
No more shaded garden in the late autumn / winter / early spring months
The sun doesn't need to climb any further than the opposing roof tops ( which its does even in mid winter) any more :woot:

I reckon a nice e-mail to the gentleman concerned thanking him for his actions is in order. Ideally as a reply to his emphatic NO e-mail, quoting it. :P

WCMUT was completing a course in short sleeves for the first time this year. Sunburn next!

It was a "Lady" and yes I did send an email, after the first tree went "missing"

In part
"I regret to inform you, that although you categorically state that no action will be taken regarding the tree's at the end on my garden,
it would appear that someone has stolen all the branches from said tree"
( It remained a 45 feet trunk for sometime, but it went today along with the other tree completely)

"She" never saw the funny side of that TBH :D

All the more reason to send another, expressing your surprise as a voter that HE CBA to reply to your previous correspondence.

The last one was CC'd to everyone I could think of that had anything to do with the "council"
Strangely not one reply.
I don't think they understand sarcasm around here TBH :(
