WCMUT....what cheered me up today

It is a beautiful day, lots of jobs outdoors for me but happy to do them.

Toaster shaped crumpets (y)

Seeing a Little Egret taking an eel AND having a suitable camera and lens ready to shoot it!
Result in the bird forum.

A buzzard flying across in front of me as I drove through the woods this morning, so agile as it went through the trees
just amazing how such a large bird can move around small gaps

Fairly possible it was a sparrowhawk, more known for their agility through trees etc. Female sparrowhawk is brown and nearly as big as a buzzy. Nevertheless a good sighting! Sparrowhawks harder to see in my experience.

Defo a Buzzard I see it often in the woods, sadly I don't have my camera with me at work

And I don't doubt it either

Granted the Accipters are the experts at navigating woodland,
But bueto's / para-buteo's aren't half bad either Even a decent sized female Harris Hawk will fly / navigate through ( at some speed) sheep netting.
wingspan around 45ins inches for the P Unicinctus smaller for the P.u Mexicanii. and larger for the P. u. superior

Best to worst scenario, female spar weighs in about 10 oz wingspan. about 28-32 ins.
Male buzzard ( about a third smaller than a female buzzard) 16-18oz wingspan circa 42 inches.
The flight pattern is totally different too.

WCMUT: Besides the sunshine and wonderful London; coming home to a letter of my insurance company following a complaint about the glass installation for our Mercedes GL AMG and seeing it contains a nice big cheque for £245, add to that the £65 waived by the glass installation firm, and considering our fully comprehensive insurance was £312.50 after quidco cash back, that makes the insurance ahem £2.50 for the year :)

Hopefully they'll fix the windscreen this Sunday ;)

I wouldn't go betting any of that lovely money on it ;) :D

LOL No I won't indeed....Besides my wife is going shopping with it ;)

I helped a 'senior citizen' lift her shopping bag into her car as she was struggling with it....

Felt good when she said "Thank you young man, it's getting more of a struggle now I am in my sixties"

I just smiled and went back to my car to put my shopping away.... didn't have the heart to say I was also in my sixties

It's good to smile!

A visit to Dartmoor Zoological Park in glorious sunshine (if a little chilly when the wind got lazy!) Even more cheering was that it was reasonably busy there for a Friday in Spring. Of course, a couple of school trips was responsible for the majority of the visitors BUT the kids were reasonably well behaved (stopped howling at the wolves when they saw the signs asking them not to howl) and had paid for entry. Even their bears were out enjoying the Sun!

WCMUT: "They got him". Well done my Belgium friends in getting that daesh scumbag Salah Abdeslam alive.....Don't forget 130 killed and 368 wounded on that one night...Good job well done.

Glad they took him alive. If what I hear is true, it's the second time he's shied away from martyrdom at the critical moment, despite sending his own brother to his death. Classy.

WCMUT - Auto Windscreens is here today with not one but two fans. At least on inspection the windscreen electronic components are all properly fitted. Fingers cross ;)

So far so good, no stress cracks and not error codes when I scan it, and everything seems to be working....I loved it how they asked for their 'exit survey'.....I was nice about the lads today who did a good job, but was more colourful about the two months leading up to this moment...

Being made DSO on a Give Way I've previously failed to stop at! (Road Rallying!)

Just out of interest was it an original manufacturer supplied glass or made by someone else.
It's usual common practice for two fitters to work on a large vehicle, the lifting frame isn't always suitable.

It came from a different supplier I think. They had the original (2nd) replacement screen send back to them three time which was faulty. And had to keep it whilst ordering another one to get a new one. Ah well still no cracks :)

Angel delight. Hmm love it. Now will it be strawberry or butterscotch?

Has to be 20+ years since I've had Angel Delight!

How do you need to ask? Butterscotch, dammit!

Or, for a real treat, layer chocolate and butterscotch in a big mixing bowl and let everyone marvel at your dessert prowess.

Mine was butterscotch indeed ;)

Haven't had Angel Delight for years! Gotta be butterscotch. Suitable for vegetarians though, so I'll have to share. :(

Seeing new born lambs in a field today, .......................................
time to start growing mint again

Oh good, I can like it again!

I particularly like the suggestor's reason for it - "It's a brilliant name!"

a decent internet connection again after 3 months, when BT finally agreed to replace the damaged overhead line to the farm

AND

PlusNet apologised - sent me a 3-month full refund with an extra month for 'goodwill'...................:)

@TheBigYin ---- now i can reply.....:whistle:

Being second in the queue for blood tests, and getting the ancient phlebotomist who really knows her stuff.
One attempt, job done. :D
(Last time was 5 arm attempts and finally getting it from a vein beneath the clavicle....ouch).

Ouch!

The vampiress down at Derriford could take an armful without leaving a bruise. Not so lucky with the doctors who took a couple of stabs every time. Then there was the quack at the RD&E who managed to give me a bag of saline subcutaneously rather than intravenously and gave me a forearm like Popeye!
