WBMT.....What baffled me today

Just watching WWE Elimination Chamber (live from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia) right now and
Roman Reigns beat Goldberg clean by submission, and the girl with the longest hair in the world, Bianca Belair, won the women's Chamber match!

I've finally lost it, although I guess I shouldn't be baffled ...

I just tried to take off my reading glasses ...
.... that I wasn't wearing!

Maybe we should start a thread on here for those doing things like that ...:D The "I'm going slightly mad" thread.

Have you got to the stage where you either go upstairs or downstairs and by the time you've got there you've forgotten the reason for doing so ? :D

Good idea :)

Saves picking up the mowings, I suppose!

It's blowing a gale here and the bloke next door is mowing his lawn
I did mine a couple of weeks ago, when my lawn was covered in leaves from the damned tree next door.
Easy way of collecting leaves :)

Serendipity! Just found this.

Why can't I find a mat for my chair???

Home office, currently have a double layer of offcut carpet under my chair so that gets dented by wheels rather than the actual carpet. But can I find a smallish mat that is not that nasty clear plastic??

Put the nasty clear plastic under whatever mat you prefer?

It seems that BT are offering to "upgrade" their internet service for around a tenner.
Its no faster than I am getting now, but they are guaranteeing a faster minimum..
In fact my speed has increased from 25mbs to 38mbs in the last couple of months.
No thanks BT ..

Don't give up the day job mate, as a comedian you'd starve with jokes like that!

Too late, he has. ;) (Not starved - that would take him nearly as long as it would me!!!)

I had the same ’offer’.
When I spoke to BT, you would renew on a 2 year contract…

As it stands its something like £1:50 increase for BB and 50p for mobile.
In April I think it is.
I shan't complain at that, especially in the past when I have had issues there are out in less than 2 days.

I got a letter from Sky yesterday, "Ultra Fast" Fibre's now in my area, 500 Mb/s, and I'm strongly considering going with Sky for Fibre and Landline once my contract with Plusnet's up in May anyway.

WBMT I went for a long walk in the country today. Started and ended at the same place. There was definitely more walking up hills than there was walking down!

Has it got something to do with being on the side of a spherical world which is spinning, similar to the coriolis effect?

I'd have to agree - it takes me ages to get anywhere, but never very long to get home afterwards . . .

My local council are proposing something like 50 e-charging points spread around various local estates.
(There are no clear signs as to whether or not these will be free.)
All very laudable except, the one proposed near me, is a stretch of road about 100 yards or so long, that is
between 2 very tight bends.

One side of the road is a line of semi's with a drive for 1 car.
The other side of the road is a large green, with terraced houses either side.
The people that live in these houses park on that side of the road.

There is just about enough room for a dozen cars, even then some park on the blind bends
despite the double yellow lines.
They are proposing that there should be 8 charging points here, with dedicated bays.

I've only ever seen I e-car in this area, and that guy parks on his own drive.
I guess if they are free to charge, he'll be parking on the road too ;)

I doubt they will be free, from what I've been told you have a charge card that debits you with how long you pare plugged
in.
Our management company installed some charge points on other new estates, connected to the meter that pays for the communal lighting etc.
Residents weren't happy as the majority didn't have electric cars, and it seems relatives/friends were leaving their cars plugged in and using the electric.
They have now been changed to metered points, you get issued with a card that you top up to use the points.
Wonder if these new points round you will be the same ?

As the infrastructure improves, more people will start buying them. It's a bit Catch-22 still but things are improving.

There are 2 bays on the road outside the local big hospital but I've yet to see them actually working... They've supposedly been in action for about 6 months but they've always been either switched off or out of order when I've been past (at least 4 times per week).

The free ones round here are all paid for by car companies - Kia and VW being the 2 that spring to mind as sponsors.

There are quite a few up CMK
but to reduce on road parking by 2/3rds it madness, when parking is at a premium.

I charge my EV for free using a rapid charger 5 minutes from my house.
Charge place scotland have hundreds of free charge points in Scotland.....
My local car park has about 10 chargepoints and they are all free.

On Tuesday I ordered something from Amazon
At the checkout I got the option of free delivery between Friday and Monday or pay
£4.99 to guarantee Friday, I opted for free
This morning I got a text from Royal Mail saying it is being delivered tomorrow  !!!

Something else MK is fast becoming (in)famous for...
There were plenty of "raids" last year, the first one of this..

Six men have been jailed after pleading guilty to being concerned in the production of a controlled class B drug.

Genjan Bardhoku, aged 28, Amarildo Jahaj, aged 26, Aristid Kola, aged 26, Albion Laki, aged 24, Yurido Racrku, aged 23, and Ari Sinanaj, aged 32, all of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to being concerned in the production of a controlled class B drug – cannabis.

They were each sentenced to a year in prison at Aylesbury Crown Court on Tuesday (1/3) and will be deported at the conclusion of their sentences.

WBMT?
For no real reason, I decided to check if there was a better CC option than the one I have.
Going through Martin Lewis's site several were recommended,
except that one I already have. It seems they are unable to offer me a CC "at this time"

WBMT?

Why does a certain cashier at my local express hate me?
She is even worse than the self service check outs and they hate me too.. :(

In the past she has checked out multiple items when I only bought one.
Checked out items that I never bought.
It all became quite a problem for awhile, so much so that I actually complained
To the top man.
Of course I got an apology and a £5 gift voucher.
I explained that I'd rather they kept it and spent the money on retraining...

she "disappeared" for a few weeks after that.
but shes BACK!

I bought a few things mostly soft or "crushable" items today,
and bag of spuds.

I presented her the basket with the spuds forward, and clear of the rest of the items.
What does she do? reach to the back of the basket and start to check out the soft and crushable bits.

WBMT...

As we often do on Fridays, we went out for lunch and having made the plan, I booked a table (as the place's website tells you to do). As luck would have it, we ended up seated close to the entrance so could hear the meet and greet. A fairly typical one went either "Hiya, have you booked a table?" "Yes, in the name Josephine Bloggs." etc. but a surprising number started the same but got the answer "No. I tried to book one but there weren't any available so we thought we'd come anyway. Have you got a table for us?" Even before the plague, the place was usually busy, especially on a Friday lunchtime and is pretty much all repeat visitors so people know the score.

Seems someone’s been busy with the stupid stick then.

WBMT?

I found it strange that the ground feeding birds hadn't been down for breakfast.
And then I spotted a pair of yellow eyes, peering out from under the Laurel!

Cat gone birds feeding :)
