And I've done plenty of that too in my time.
But nothing I own, is legal to discharge in a built up area.
Traps are much quieter ;)

The 24 hour bug got me at 3am and was relentlessly brutal for over 3 hours. Where the hell do these things get created?!!!

Lol probably. Aye, not throwing up anymore but just exhausted with fluctuating body temperature. Should be gone by tomorrow hopefully! Cheers

I've now rigged up a revolving greasy plastic sleeve for the arm.
I'll see if that works, before putting out the new feeder.
If not, the traps are going out.
Well that worked. (y)
But now the little git has taken to digging up bedding plants, in my patio pots.
Once hoggy has had his meal tonight, the traps are going out.
It can't say it wasn't warned, not reading TP is no excuse ...

Spare bedroom has been invaded by bees! Somehow they are getting in but not having the brain to get out again. Have had to leave the window open as otherwise there will be loads of them trapped.

I'll be finding out later if cinnamon really does repel bees...

Clearly the little sods thought no mow May leads to Move In June

I collected these eight NO2 FASTGAS cylinders from the grassed area opposite my home this morning . About three weeks ago I picked one up out of the gutter not realising what it was. I just thought it was strange for a workman to discard it. Ther two days later another in the gutter in a nearby road and now these . Very strange. It's NO2..the large version of those small silver cylinders discarded all over the place.. Fortunately, the local scrap man took the last two so he'll take these. They're quite heavy. Would kids use this size for sniffing ? They're about £25 each and used in the food industry for whipping cream. Surely, someone in the food trade wouldn't discard them like this ?

My car alarm has gone off twice this evening but checking the cctv there doesn't seem to be any cause. It's never done this before. I thought the battery might be a bit low as low voltage can set alarms off but it started with no problem.

Maybe there's something in the air tonight. We were forecast thunder storms but so far nada, it is quite humid and close though. Fingers crossed. I've turned the alarm off and just left the car locked.

Yes some kids sniff this. It used to be the small cylinders to go in appliances but in some places its moved on to these larger cylinders. I'm guessing some character buys a large cylinder and then sells balloons of the gas to others. There have been some cases of people being seriously injured by sniffing N20

I decided to make some bread today but the dough didn't rise at all so I made another batch with yeast from a different tub and got exactly the same result which is disappointing as both tubs are still in date. It's all gone in the bin.

I keep mine in the freezer Alan, as soon as I buy it, in it goes ;)

Don't bin the yeast if you have slug problems, it makes great traps

Both good tips.

I'll get some more yeast next time I go shopping and it'll go in the freezer. Is it ok to thaw it out, use some and put the rest back into the freezer again?

NO - if you thaw it - use some and then re-freeze what remains that is NOT good and under no circumstances should re-freezing of previously frozen , then thawed, be done

I take the dried yeast out of the freezer, measure how much I need, depending on what bread I am making. Then return the still frozen yeast to the freezer.

Are you sure its NO2, that's highly toxic.

and not N2O Even that is no laughing matter ;)

Yes ,you're right N2O.I can't see how to make the 2 very small. so it's a "big 2 from me" :)

I was quite tired when I posted and somethig inside kept saying to me..N2O not NO2 and I ignored it. One should always listen to the innerself.. :D

I've Googled how to get a small 2 subtext on my Mac Mac (Youtube so I can see what to click on)..You wouldn't believe how complicated it is. The demonstrator (who is a double of Lionel Messi) said it's complicated . As this has been a one-off I'll skip it..Lol.

The frozen yeast doesn't stick together in a big lump? You can scoop an amount out whilst it's frozen?

Do you then put it in he mixture frozen or leave it to thaw?

No it doesn’t stick together, and yes let it thaw for a while before using it.

Also, make sure you are using Luke warm water, bottled is best, no chlorine :)

Thanks.

Amazing what you can learn on a photography forum :D

Yes, I always use warm water.

Stomach cramps, now considerable tiredness and aching muscles today. Started Friday evening, gradually building.

Lactose intolerence?

I had a load of Ice Cream on Sunday and I'm still suffering. I use Lactose free milf but did not think about the Ice Cream ( it was very tasty creamy vanilla)

It's definitely not that, or if it is then it's very new. Started Friday evening, and the only lactose content I had was a yoghurt at lunchtime, which I do every day, plus a little semi-skimmed milk in my coffee twice a day. Saturday and Sunday it built up and I ate less milk than in the week. Last night I had a mild temperature, but this morning it seems to be calming down.

Probably just a transient enteric infection of some kind.

Diagnosis on my laptop is a critical power fault on the motherboard  :$ they have tried (and failed) to repair it so it needs a replacement.

At least that is one less thing to deal with at airport security as off to Kos for a fortnight on Saturday and they can't do it before then.

......and this is why I wanted to take my my wife's Octavia to the dealer rather than my wife. It has a central-locking issue and the warranty (from new) expires on Thursday so it's covered. I don't object to the young man, who my wife spoke to, trying to sell an extended warranty.."All-In" and lasts 2 years ,it's what I'd expect considering the one that came with the car expires next Thursday but I do object that he told her there's no commision. My wife worries each time her car goes for an MOT despite one never failing so she's minded to take out this warranty. £840 for two years. When she bought it the salesman said that, by law..he had to go through the add-ons including gap insurance.

My wife said he wasn't pushy,a very nice young man. Well,I'd hope he was. He said the cost of this repair would be about £340...but, as I say,it's coverd. He was pointing out the virtues of the extended warranty. It covers two MOTs Two services and 2 years roadside assistance with the AA. The car does 5000 a year.

Included isa full inspection...Oil and filter change but as expected, the cost of them isn't covered if new oil and filter is required . A vehicle road test....a diagnostic check and report.. Re-set service interval display. (This should be done by the mechanic after every service, anyway) They forgot on the last one and it kept 'reminding' us . I think the service cost £230. This is good...you get a Skoda stamp in the service book. ..Software updates...That's it. We'll change it in 2025.

By law, they do have to go through all of the finance and add on options with you, and you have to sign a document confirming the sales person has done so. Even if you want to buy the car on your bank card, they have to do it. If they don't, the finance ombudsman can take away their finance licence. I know this as I had to check that all the sales people had completed the correct paperwork when I worked at a main dealer.

We're reconfiguring our Wren kitchen. This meant we needed 2 x 600mm base units, 2 doors, 2 handles and a kick board.

We went to Wren at parkgate, where we bought the original, to get a price.

They wanted £1,049.

We had a good laugh and told them where to stick it. Cowboys.

Looking in the mirror this morning and looking at an Alien, as my left hand side of my face is swollen up with a tooth infection.
Ouch.
