Clutch failure on our car.![]()

Going backwards suggests that the hand brake may have locked on.Could we be lucky?
Have you tried stall testing? handbrake on, few revs, lift clutch, it should stall not slip'n'run.Yup, I have a feeling it was/is something brake related. When it cools down outside, I 'll stick my head under to look for anything obvious.

That's very kind Ingrid, but coincidence or what! I bought the very same product in Lidls yesterday. They do seem to work I must say. My wife loves gardening and she is always outside (I have to watch through the windowI suffer too, can't tke the medicines as they make me feel worse.
I saw some Nuage Hay Fever Wipes in Savers for 99p, so thought it was worth a try and they work for me.
I have some smaller 10tissue packs and always carry ine around with me.
I have told friends about them and they like them too, but they don't work for everyone.
Happy to send you a pack to try
Selling every item you have isn't always the most rewarding way to dispose of them.
Not that I use FB to get rid of stuff, very often, but the ones that annoy me, on the free page, someone posts something, sometimes it's worth a few quid, and within a few minutes, its "I want this"
Not please can I have
And then the people that want it delivered because they are "disabled and or don't drive".
I got caught like that once, never again.
Well remembered, I did report it here, and yes it was quite awhile go.I suppose it must have been you as that wouldn't happen very often.

I had a workbench..just a small handy one for the odd job but hardly used it so that's going too. Today, a man enquired if we still had it ? "Yes".. "Can I come and collect it ? 'Yes".. My wife (she's on FB,I'm not) gave him our address and asked when he was calling round. He replied "Can I come now ".."Yes". That was at 1.20pm. My wife went out and called me at 2.15pm to ask if he'd been...No. That' it.Maybe he had an accident on the way and is in hospital or possibly dead
I just cannot comprehend this behaviour.
It was a "power washer drive man" that spurred me on to get one myself. It cost me £80 in the sale (complete with detergent attachment) and I've been using it to do the drive, patios, cars, white plastics etc, etc, ever since. It's a Nilfisk and I was advised to buy a spare set of seals (around £5) which I haven't used! It uses the water to cool itself and I have been informed that these are better than the air cooled ones. I bought the longer length hose version (in with the price) so can reach right around the house and garden. It works off mains or water butts with the click on attachment fitted to the taps (£3.50 each at the garden centre). Best thing that I have bought in ages.A few posts up I posted a photo of the red van parked a third of the way across our drive and belonging to the man who cleaned my neighbour's patio last Friday. The patio is about 12m x 5 m. He did it in 30 minutes and charged £150 so he's on £300 an hour...probably cash. I do jobs like that for my neighbour as he's very ill and they insist on giving me something so I settle for Lindor chocolates. A favourite of mine. This patio-cleaner asked me if I wanted the block-paved drive done. No. I told him, I do the drive and patio myself . The drive doesn't need doing anyway ,it's clean.I have a really good Karcher that does the job in half the time it took with the old one. So..that was a week ago and today he's back door-knocking and asked my wife if we wanted the drive cleaning. I never deal with anyone who door-knocks for jobs.
Yes..they're an excellent buy. Unbeknown to me when I posted he'd knocked next door again (he did their rear patio for £150 last Friday 16th) to see if they want the drive doing..the lady is a straight-talker and in a broad Birmingham accent said "Now, you're too bleedin' expensive"..lol. He then promptly dropped the price from £150 to £120 but her husband said no.It was a "power washer drive man" that spurred me on to get one myself. WAMT was a pair of NLYF terrier types (nasty little yappy fnicklers!) that would go for anything on 4 legs heading into the pub where we were having lunch.
