Our local Sainsburys C&C are pretty good about short dated or 'tired' looking fresh foods, you just tell them you are rejecting the item & they take it off your bill. sometimes they even let you keep the 'rejected' item.....
Very true, as the C&C point is in the store car park, if there's something missing or we have rejected an item we park the car and go into the store. I don't mind using the self service tills for 1 or 2 items, or a basket full. As our C&C slot is 8am-9am the store is pretty quiet too, as we are still not big fans of crowds. We no longer wear masks but I still prefer social distancing. Even at that time of day there's usually a queue at the manned tills though. That's all very well but if you need an item it's sod's law that they take it away with them!
Our local "convenience" store doesn't stock much in the way of veg, unfortunately and is 1 1/2 time the price of Sainsbury's. Always a chance that we can get an hour of free charging at Sainsbury's as well!
Won’t do it, trying to get us all to self serve and let them cut staff, I was directed to the diy tills yesterday, I declined and told them, “I don’t work here, nor do I get a discount for self service!”
I am trying to work out what annoyed you today.........................the supplier and the collection point are operating correctly (as you acknowledge) to mitigate against a possible fraud as well as your wife & yourself! On Saturday, I ordered a couple of clothing items for my wife, using her details. The company has said that the items are ready for collection from a local Tescos. They require photo ID to collect, which is reasonable. The trouble is that my wife wants me to take her passport along tomorrow to collect it.
I remember trying this before at a Royal Mail station and they refused to let me have the letter addressed to her unsurprisingly.
She doesn't want to wait until Saturday, when we will pass it on the way to do our weekly shop.

Just say that you identify as your wife...![]()

So unless the supplier, courier & collection point have a 'nominated collector' system in place then it is her that will need to show up to collect, so why are you annoyed![]()

Well yesterday now.
Lamb stew, veg and dumplings in the slow cooker, for tea.
I covered it and walked away.
2 hours later I went to check on it...
And I'd forgotten to switch it on at the wall socket.
Guess who's tea was late..
Bloody donut![]()
I made myself a sarnie, and waited it out.I have done that before, usually results in the "emergency" curry tactics being deployed.
Weights and measures (what ever they are called these days) ?I filled up my car today at Tecos, I stopped the pump at £41.99 when I replaced the nozzle it jumped to £42.02. I told the Kiosk attemdant but got a blank response and oh we'll keep an eye on that. I looked all over the Tesco website to see who I could contact about this but there are no details for the fuel stations.
but it's only ever 1p when the nozzle goes back in the pump

Cottage pie tonight I wonder what could go wrong with that![]()

Snap!
The beef mince is dated tomorrow, so I have to get some Maris Piper from the Co-op, then jobs a goodun. Going make a leaky, mustard, cheesy mash and a spicy meat element.
I've never heard of it, yellow potato's don't seem right somehow.Just tried a hitherto unkown variety of spud - Lily - the inside is as yellow as I have ever seen.
I think I should! A blue topping to shepherds pie is just to much to contemplate..
I really don't understand the need to artificially colour food.Could go nicely with the coloured carrots![]()

I'm not sure on other veg but potatoes and carrots were other colours till we bred them to suit our tastes and colour.I really don't understand the need to artificially colour food.
It seems that most veggies can be had in a range of colours these days![]()
I'd not thought about it before, but it seems as far back as the 10th century carrots were either purple or whiteI'm not sure on other veg but potatoes and carrots were other colours till we bred them to suit our tastes and colour.
