Hey im 46 and think twice about going above first floor windowsill level, especially when its doing something sketchy like holding a satellite dish at the same time. Id pay the money.Being asked to pay £160 to replace a satellite dish LNB, 15 minutes work max.
I paid up, sadly one of the hidden costs of getting old & being too unsteady to climb a ladder.anymore.....I can still remember many years ago my 70 year old uncle cleaning the gutters of his council house, he died of a head injury when he fell off the ladder.
Reminds me of years ago when my old Mk2 Cortina failed the MOT with worn steering ball joints, which I paid the garage to replace. A year & 6000 miles later the same garage 'failed' it again for the same reason. When I pointed this out to the garage that they had replaced the ball joints a year earlier, they said they would check it again, & surprise surprise it passed........I've been using a garage for decades but lately I haven't been happy with them so I tried another, They seemed to sort out my MX5 but then I saw a patch of oil on the garage floor so it'll need to go back as it wasn't leaking a drop before. Next was my Hyundai which they did an MoT and service on including changing the wipers and two rear indicator bulbs which very strangely must have failed while they had the car as they were working when I dropped it off, I didn't press the point as the indicator bulbs were only £10. The rear wiper though was only contacting the screen in middle few inches with 2/3rds of the wiper not touching the screen at all so it had to go back for that and today I see it too is leaking oil so will have to go back again for that. So, that's two cars MoT'd and serviced and one had to go back for the rear wiper and both will need to go back for oil leaks. Oh, and a big question mark over those rear indicators as they were both working when I backed the car out of the drive.
Deep sigh. I'll take both cars back for the oil leaks but next time I think I'll go somewhere else.
I thought the day's of "trying it on" had passed, sadly not it seems.Deep sigh. I'll take both cars back for the oil leaks but next time I think I'll go somewhere else.

Dont know what version of the MX5 you have but if you have clear lens on the indicators as the latest model does then your indicator bulbs need to be sufficiently orange. The paint degrades so while the bulbs may be fine the colour may not be.I've been using a garage for decades but lately I haven't been happy with them so I tried another, They seemed to sort out my MX5 but then I saw a patch of oil on the garage floor so it'll need to go back as it wasn't leaking a drop before. LOCAL NEWS - In January, seven people under the age of 18 were arrested as a part of an operation to tackle knife crime in the city.
And the "knife angel" was here for a few months, ( it left a couple of weeks ago) that worked well then![]()
Same here. What is the world ( or even the UK coming to?This was unheard of when I was a kid or even a teenager.
I’ve had that problem too, in my case it was directions to a pond for damselfliesJust the internet again.
I must stop relying on directions off the internet. We were going to go somewhere today we'd never been before and the directions looked so simple I didn't even need to write them down. Just get off the A road at the stated junction, take the 3rd exit at the roundabout, go down the road and the destination is on the left. The only problem was reality was completely different and when exiting the A road at the stated junction there was no roundabout, just a T junction. Maybe 20 years ago the directions could have been vaguely right but today I might as well have been looking at a map of down town Mogadishu. I don't know why but in the last year or so I've had some rubbish directions from the net.
As an ex surveyor, I used to spend a lot of time in lofts! They say a lot about the folks in the house. Mine is a shambles!Feeling old! Better than the alternative but doesn't feel like it ATM!!! Spent a lot of yesterday clearing the MiL's loft and 6'1" doesn't fit too comfortably into 5'6" max headroom. Only a morning's work up there left to do though so worth the effort. And Cuprofen works on me.

I have used the self service tills in the past, but every time I did something went wrong, and I had to wait for assistance, all the time watching theWon’t do it, trying to get us all to self serve and let them cut staff, I was directed to the diy tills yesterday, I declined and told them, “I don’t work here, nor do I get a discount for self service!”
Recently, I was without transport for a few days, so I tried the Morrisons prime thing through Amazon. All but given up on click and collect and/or home delivery
