WAMT....what annoyed me today!

I've no idea TBH I have a proper boiler, all the pipework is inside, in the kitchen.
Although I did hear that hot water freezes faster than cold water. But I'm not sure if it's true or indeed, how that could be
Hot water molecules are moving faster and less dense than cold so are more liable to freezing,

Today I'm off to watch Sheffield Wednesday.

I can't say this really annoyed me and nothing surprises us these days so I'm just posting for the What The Heck factor...

Coming back from the shops I saw a couple maybe in their 30's or 40's walking a dog, on the pavement. The next time I looked up the dog was squatting and doing a dump in the middle or the road. I kid you not. This couple stood there and stopped traffic while their dog did a dump in the middle of the road.

:D

Traffic just waited. There were no horns blaring. I suppose the drivers just couldn't really believe what was happening either.

The way society seems to be going how long before the dog is replaced with a human. As I've seen in many a clip on line.

Indirectly puts me in mind of a video reel I spotted of guy in the USA showing how to drill a hole in the drivers footwell and run a hose out......in the car he showed attached to that end of the hose was a urinal shaped 'cup' ~ go figure where that would spray out! No idea whether that was a 'spoof' or a serious 'life hack ' I have no idea :police: :runaway:

PS did the couple "poop scoop" their dogs droppings?

Actually sounds better than doing it in a bottle and slinging it out the window, which seems to be the method here. :D

Went to Bristol to see the son yesterday, stopped at Cribbs Causeway on the way as still need a couple of Xmas pressies. Do "Yellow Box" areas have no meaning in Bristol. Some guy pulled into the box while his lights were on amber with no way out and the traffic not moving. Our lights turned green and I had nowhere to go....

And he got s4itty when I sounded my horn..... Bloody morons...

WAMT was the todger in the Hi-Lux who decided that the "NO PICKUPS" sign at the car wash didn't apply to him. Can only hope he gets a bill from the operator.

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, if you don't wash the salt off, it turns to rust!

That's why I was aiming for the wash!

If something annoyed me yesterday, does it still count?

Why don’t people clean the car windscreen properly!!!? The ice is still on the screen and they drive around with a small hole to peek through! Ridiculous

Absolutely, plus against the Highway Code (the law?)

If involved in an accident with such a driver be sure to take photos that include their reduced vision!

PS I really appreciate the heated windscreen on my Ford Kuga and the Focus before it :)

They do make clearing the front and rear screens quick. I set mine going while I squirt and scrape all the other windows.

As a window ice scraper I use a portion of a motorcycle rear number plate!

MiL testing positive for covid hasn't exactly cheered me up! Had a text from one of her carers to tell us that she (the carer) had tested positive and sure enough, MiL has picked it up. Of course she can't now have the other carers so we have an exciting week ahead of us... Might need to play catch-up with the 52!
Phone signal patchy at best and no Internet so season's greetings - happy solstice!

I'm sorry to hear that @Nod I hope that she makes a quick & full recovery.

happy solstice!
And to you. No dancing nekid around Stonehenge, it's a little chilly for that.

My son's partner has also tested positive for Covid, and they were coming to us over Christmas. We now have to wait until the morning of Xmas eve. to see if she will test negative, otherwise they won't be coming, and it's our Grandson's first Christmas :(

Not today but Tuesday (and most other days I go for a walk) this gate is only about 10 yards from where the dog walkers will have parked their cars to take their dogs for a walk on the Moors. They took the time to bag the Poo (not really necessary on the open Moor) and bring it back off the Moor only to leave it on the fence/wall presumably for the Poo Faries to come and take away. I see it all too often but rarely bother to take a photo. I was out walking for 4 hours, the green one was there when I left but not the black one.

They walk amongst us, saw this a lot near me before houses started to be built in the fields and the public footpath disappeared.

It really annoys me too. Not far from us is an area of open ground and a bridleway is marked by small(bit less than a metre) posts and some folks think one of the posts are a 'poo bag depositing point'

Apart from the annoyance at the lack of responsibility shown by those who leave the bags, it also puzzles me.

I could(sort of) understand if someone had a great aversion to getting anywhere near dog poo, but these folks pick up the poo, tie the bag, and often(as in the photo above) carry the filled bag some distance before leaving it. After doing all that why don't they bin it, it is not exactly heavy to carry for a while.?

Me too, the leaving of poo bags for someone else for clear up :(

I remember a few years ago visiting Heddons mouth in Devon for a week for the butterflies, there was one bramble bush alongside the footpath that was a favourite for the butterflies but when I arrived it was covered in poo bags , I had to remove them , I just don’t understand why they do that
see the same thing in local nature reserves too

I too find that behaviour totally incomprehensible.....taking the responsibility of bagging it, then the 100% irresponsibility of leaving it where they like instead of taking it home or disposing of it in the waste bins :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

I just can't understand the mindset. Why go to all the trouble of buying the bags, then picking it up and carrying it 'x' distance only to leave it as a problem for someone else to sort out? :headbang:

The offenders should be captured, beaten and then made to eat it (bag included). Then they should spend the next month for at least twelve hours a day on 'dog-poo-pick-up' duty whilst wearing a HiVis jacket with 'I'm a Prize C**t - Kick Me' written on it. :police:

It's so easy to train your dog to poo in the undergrowth rather than on the path, so why preserve it for five hundred years in a plastic bag anyway? Nature will dispose of it naturally in just a few days.

yes exactly what I thought, why bag it up and throw it into the bush
that particular occasion stuck in my memory because the bush was covered in butterflies so it was incomprehensible that someone would do that but see poo bags dumped everywhere

Is a sore subject for me anyway as in the warmer months I’m chasing insects , macro photography, so I have to check for dog poo in the grass before kneeling or laying down to take pictures

When we had dogs I would carry the bag of s*** proudly as a badge of honour, it often went in the bin at home due to lack of bag bins on the route.

So far, she's completely asymptomatic but has passed it on to Mrs Nod (again, asymptomatic so far). On the other had, although we're in relatively close contact, I'm being more careful then Mrs Nod can be (I'm not showering her Mum etc.), my test this morning was negative.

Home at the moment, picking up a few things now it's a longer stay (DEEP joy!!!) so got internet access while the water heats up so I can have a shower.

I aways found a bit of naked dancing warmed things up.
