Every day and maybe more often than once a day I get an email from Tesla and I don't seem to be able to block them. Grrrrr.
What difference would it make because I was overtaking lorries as we went into the 50 mph zone and it also stated stay in lane. The only reason why I gradually pulled ahead of the lorries was because I am using the speedo on my SatNav; most car speedos are inaccurate. Further on, I saw that most vehicles did stay in lane including the outer lane.Just because it’s a 50 mph zone because of roadworks doesn’t mean you should be driving in the middle lane.
And no, I can assure you it wasn’t me.
That does not sound pleasant in the slightest, Nick!WAMT A massive cellulitis flare-up. Overnight, it’s gone from slightly painful to a 102 degree temperature and massive swelling up to and including my knee to the point where I can’t now bend my knee, oh, and the cherry on the cake is the yellow puss filled blisters all over it which occasionally leak everywhere. Yes I am on antibiotics and extremely peed off![]()
Happy that I'm now over the chest infection, but WAMT is the amount of rain we are getting here.
Went out for a walk earlier, love the rain.
Walking along one footpath there was a huge deep puddle covering it, wearing my comfortable waterproof leather country boots
I couldn't resist walking through it
Coming the other way were some hikers (?) all togged out with rucksacks etc. wearing canvas walking boots !!!
They proceeded to try and balance on the edge of the puddle in the mud, commenting that they should have worn wellies.
I can't walk or in fact wear wellies for any length of time, if I had to wear something it would be gaiters.
) . Fortunately I was wearing knee length gaiters and there's a boot wash aka a stream a bit further down.In my experience it's the folk in wellies who teeter around the puddles...............
Okay, sometimes you don't know how deep they are.
Update. Been in hospital 2 days now…Lots to annoy me in hereWAMT A massive cellulitis flare-up. Oh no that must have been frighteningI was doing 30mph today on a main road on the edge of the town centre when a Merc saloon came out of a side road on my left and turned right in front of me, never even slowed, must have been doing at least 30mph as the car just shot out. So, it was a full on emergency stop and thankfully we missed each other. I had my mam and my wife in the car and I was just... shaking. I've never come so close to having a major accident in a long time but I suppose with a modern car and airbags galore we would probably have been ok but my mam is 93 so nothing was certain with a closing speed of potentially 60mph.
One thing I thought of was that I wouldn't have been surprised if the other car had been a 10 year old hot hatch driven by a teenager but this was an expensive recent model merc that someone (assuming it wasn't stolen) paid a lot of money for. Why do people dive in such a mad way? No answer to that one I suppose.
Just out of interest. The nearest I've come to a major accident was one winter when I was about 20. I was in a Mini probably doing about 60mph when an artic coming the other way swung out into my lane to turn left, I stamped on the brakes and the car slid all over and as I tried to correct the slide I squeezed passed the lorry and took the snow of the rails that stop you going under the trailer, so that was a close one. Today was just awful.
Because mindless people "look but don't see". There is an assumption that, as it's usually quiet and not very much traffic, that it's safe to go, so when they look, they're not actually recording what's happening. One thing I thought of was that I wouldn't have been surprised if the other car had been a 10 year old hot hatch driven by a teenager but this was an expensive recent model merc that someone (assuming it wasn't stolen) paid a lot of money for. Some youngsters now get expensive cars on lease schemes, they can afford it living at home with parents. One thing I thought of was that I wouldn't have been surprised if the other car had been a 10 year old hot hatch driven by a teenager but this was an expensive recent model merc that someone (assuming it wasn't stolen) paid a lot of money for. This is why I always drive with my dipped beam on. They can't argue that they didn't see me, I have a bright red roof and LED headlamps - If they can't see me they shouldn't be driving!

When I was young I had an old beat up mini (Austin not BMW) I learned how to maintain it by rebuilding the engine and doing the brakes etc. Something that most new cars make it impossible to do these days.
We have narrow streets locally and 90% of the time pulling in and letting somebody pass is acknowledged, usually with a wave, sometimes with a nod & a smile. It infuriates me when the other 10% just drive through. It's just common courtesy, like saying thank you if someone holds a door open for you....People who seem unable or think there is no need to respond to someone else who has helped them, even just by a bit.
About an hour ago I was driving on a single track road with passing places and there were a couple of cars coming towards me.
I was closer to a passing place behind me than they were to a passing place behind them, so I backed up to let them through.
As they passed it was if I was not there - no nod, no wave!
I don't want them to stop and prostrate themselved before me but an acknowledgement would have been nice/friendly/appropriate.
Dave
I think I should say the vast majority people in similar situations are very friendly

If you want sarcasm......... perhaps shouting "you're welcome" might have more meaningful impactyes I do too as sarcasticly as I can![]()
Sorry to hear thatBSM.
Mrs WW booked a course of driving lessons and paid in advance.
They contacted her a couple of days before the first lesson and postponed for a number of weeks, it might have been a month. She was sat ready with her coat and shoes on for her first lesson when they cancelled and rescheduled again, and to repeat she was sat ready with coat and shoes on. She had her first lesson and it went ok and her second was due to be today and again she was sat with her coat and shoes on when they cancelled. So that's three cancellations / reschedules now and two with just minutes to go before the lesson was due to start. What a shambles this company is.
My advice is to give up with this awful company and try someone more local but she's stubborn and wont listen so I've suggested that she at least set some limit as to how many times she's going to let them do this before she asks for her money back.
I can see how upset she is yet she just wants to carry on with them. After recent set backs (stone throwing assault and racial abuse and general hassle when out) I can see each disappointment affecting her and I can see her withdrawing... she keeps saying she's too frightened to go out and with each let down from this awful company I feel for her.
Oh well. Hopefully they'll turn a corner and start turning up.

Sorry to hear that
Why don't you teach her?![]()
Two things, once she gets the hang of roundabouts
Two things,
1) someone I know has his own driving school, and he hears this a lot about them.
2) come down here, she'll soon get the hang of roundabouts
( joking of course you are a 100 or so miles away)
Look for small local firm or indies, big firms don't care as muchShe deffo needs some proper lessons. It's just a shame that her first experience has gone so poorly.

Sorry, ignore meYup. That's what I've suggested.
