WAMT....what annoyed me today!

people thinking that "sock puppet" accounts pass under the radar...
Coming back from working away for about a month and finding account no longer recognised so having to start another account.

The correct procedure is to contact site staff, to get this rectified.
People that start duplicate accounts sometimes end up with having both, and any future accounts banned.

How can you contact staff if you can't log in?

Depends on your definition of duplicate. It's just an account because my previous log in name / password or email address are no longer recognised.

As a guest, contact us button bottom right hand corner,
At least that's how everyone else does it that has log in issues (y)

Windscreen three has failed....First one broke after installation, second one I noticed the windscreen heater (no it is not a Ford :P) connector was coming off, third attempt was confirmed yesterday, this morning at 09:20 received a phone call that they inspected the windscreen they were due to install and yes you guessed it. Its damaged....

I wonder whether it is actually the same windscreen from the second attempt, I mean it is not like there are lots of Mercedes GL class vehicles on the road ;)

So I started digging, and noticed that the CEO of Auto Windscreens is actually in my LinkedIn network, so I wrote a nice and constructive letter to him. For now I thought it is best not to use his mobile phone number just yet...

PS. I love being right about my guesses, guess it is not right for an WAMT thread but at least this bit of happiness will undoubtedly annoy someone else...

I take it then, that as soon as you created your duplicate new account, you immediately contacted the site admin and sought their assistance rectifying matters with your old one? ;)

FFS! I'm sure you are a jinx on cars, :D
Why not by a Mondeo or something? :p

No, he was caught in the spam filter, so we let out a little rope as we normally do in these instances, to see what the score is ;)

What a naughty boy!
You'd think he'd want to fix the alleged *cough cough* log in problems!! :sneaky:

I'm sure he'll be asking for the accounts to be merged shortly (y)
(Before we ban both of them)

Actually, the new Ford Mondeo Vignale is not bad looking. I also want to see what the Ford Edge Vignale ends up being....Can't believe I'm saying that

Anyway the only problem we've had with our GL (now known as GLS) is the windscreen replacement and flat tyres....Hardly the fault of the brand...

are you sure it wasn't just that your original account was given a temporary (24 hour) ban (from a warning on the 9th of february)...

Does a ban start immediately, or does the clock start the next time you log in?

... if you had to sit there and clock-up 24hrs wall watching against an inactive account to work off a penalty...

Its effective immediately, although some say it should start from the next log in.
As some people don't log in for a few days, from one day to the next, if you see what I mean.

Fairly sure. As I said, I've been working away for almost a month, came back and nothing was recognised, not even aware of any warnings or temporary bans. What did I do?

WAMT was realising that the s***box's MOT has expired. Now parked off road and hoping that ANPR hasn't picked it up in the intervening period... It hasn't been out of town past the fixed cameras but may have been spotted by mobiles. 100% my fault, I wish they sent out reminders like they do for tax.

The MOT garage we use sends out reminders and usually includes a 10% off voucher when our MOT's are due.

WAMT, yet again my eldest son has been put upon by his grandmother, (my MIL) to take her over to her mothers, to get the house cleaned up so her mother can come back home from her temporary stay in care home, whilst her house was rewired. Apparently the electricians left the house in a bit of a mess, so needs more tidying up than first thought. My sister -in-law and her husband decide they would go and help, which is a miracle in itself, only the wife, my youngest son and I have been left to babysit, my niece and nephews. I can't even watch my own bloody telly, as they have to have the PlayStation on to keep them quiet.
The cat's not happy either, she hates noisy kids and right now their is a kid in each of her comfy chairs she likes to curl up on and have a snooze.

WAMT (2). The doddery old fart in his X-Type Jag this morning that insisted on accelerating way too slowly everywhere (although he did at least eventually achieve the speed limit) but whilst accelerating, every time he changed gear, he managed to apply the brakes. Unfortunately I was stuck behind him for about 4 miles before I got the chance to overtake him on a short section of dual carriageway, then the silly old fart nearly steared into the side of me as I drove past.

I love folk like that, once had to overtake an Aston Martin being driven at 30 on a straight NSL road. I never know if they're just playing with me and are going to hoon off as soon as I draw level...

About a mile up the road, after I overtook him, was a roundabout which feeds the M25, at the speed he actually approached it, I did wonder whether he was actually going to get the car stopped before getting taken out by a few artics.

Perhaps a little too much to drink? Or busy texting? Or the luck is having his .... polished :)

Not so much annoyance but in a way amusement, but the letter fits and this didn't exactly cheer me up.
It seems I misread the overtime list last week. Guess who turned up for work 6hrs too early today. ;)
Now back home, relaxing before I have to go back again. Doh!

I really wouldn't worry about it.

Last year I completely forgot to get the MOT for my car. I normally get the MOT done just before the insurance is due. But last year we'd been away on holiday and when we got back I didn't have time for the new MOT before the insurance renewal. So I renewed the insurance with the existing MOT which was still valid for a few more days, and planned to renew the MOT immediately afterwards... but completely forgot about it.

So this year, as the insurance renewal was approaching, I dug out the files to check when the MOT was due - and the answer was about 340 days in the past. Oops.

In that time I'd driven about 6000 miles, including a few long motorway trips and a few trips into the London congestion charging zone, so goodness knows how many ANPR cameras I passed. Plus my wife was caught by a speed camera in Swansea in my car and I fell foul of a level crossing camera here in Maidenhead. But it appears that these things aren't joined up because I never heard a peep about the lack of MOT.

Bought the thing last April 1st and stuck all the paperwork in the relevant drawer without making a note of the renewal date. Now in my computer/phone calendar reminder so shouldn't forget next year! Shouldn't have a problem getting the new ticket but a bit of a PITA! We do get reminders about the "proper" cars MOTs but this one's relatively fresh to us so haven't had it tested ourselves yet.

The common practice of TV companies at the end of a programme to

(a) tell you what is going to be on next. Even in the Stone Age of TV I had a Radio Times and could find out what is on next. Now, when I think, all TV have an EPG, what is the point? It is even more annoying when I want to read the cast list and half the screen disappears to let me know what is the next programme, and

(b) let you know what is in next week's episode. I find part of the enjoyment of a series is looking forward to the next episode.

Passed with flying colours, as expected.

Last week the carpark I use when I pop into town changed its payment structure, minimum stay is now £2 for 2hrs they have done away with the £1 for 1hr option now I'm normally only there for about 30-40mins but last week bumped into a mate and went for coffee, thought that's OK as due to the changes had paid for 2hrs. This morning with the post I get a parking notice charge I've overstayed my time according to their images I arrived at 09:41:43 and left at 10:45:21 now even with my basic understanding of maths I make that less than two hours, I even had to double check when I was in today that the new minimum was 2hrs and it was so WTF.

Vodafone annoyed me today. I'm guessing you have to be a Tw@t before they will employ you. Phone got drowned at the weekend. So I went this morning to vodafone shop to buy a new one with sim. Guy in shop sorts it out, tells me two hours to register. Well it didnt. Online help No1 told me he would sort it but then 'we lost our connection'. So i tried again with online help No2, who assured me my phone would be registered shortly. Five hours later still nothing. Online help No.3 tells me they can't do anything with sim cards bought from shop, despite me being asked for sim card number earlier by Online help No 2.
My daughter is now telling me it takes 24 hours. If this is the case why did none of the 4 Vodafone people I spoke to tell me that.:mad::mad:
