WAMT....what annoyed me today!

Finding some brand new Average Speed cameras on the M74 in both directions. So brand new that they have shiny clean [ very very clean] notices on them saying 'Speed cameras under test'. Oh and it's a 50 speed limit on that bit of the Motorway.

Couple that with a bit of Roadworks on the M8 and the usual idiots that ignore the 40 on it and go belting up expecting folk to let them in when the warning of the lane closure has been there for a good while. We were crawling at all of 5mph !!

So basically 450 degrees :)
I guess most people have tried / done that when the right lane is clear, and the left hand lane is rammed full ;)

Because if you go "tight left" of roundabout someone will get on your outside, take the "racing line" and cut you up as you try and either leave or enter the roundabout, they do that here too,

So many people do it here that they obviously think it's correct and assume there are two lanes. But if they looked, they would see that there is not a dividing line.

My reasoning for not playing that game is that if there was a car already approaching the roundabout indicating left which was positioned as far left as possible and I was going right. I could easily fit into the gap to the right of the first car. However, if that car moved to the right a bit and we had a collision, I think I would have a hard time explaining to my insurance company why I tried to get alongside another car on a single lane approach to a roundabout.

For that reason, I approach it centrally every time no matter how many people behind me I annoy.

Steve.

Some one

shot Cilla? :D

I swear it is the worse show on t.v.... I would sooner watch Frankie Boyle(who I detest) but Mrs A is adamant that it is on...can't even go to the pub as it is closed for maintenance

TBH I didn't know it (she) was still going. I've not seen it in years.
It was pretty crap then!

A whole day of rain - on my only day off this week!

WAMT: I was a naughty boy early June and was speeding on the A34 North Bound.

Have the only just notified you?
I thought that it had to be within 2 weeks?

Hmm interesting, the alleged offence was on 9/6 and the letter is dated 10/7. I may have to check that out.

EDIT: Just checked it out, I will check with the lease company for my Golf R as it may have been issued to them first. Will be prudent to do so before I reject it. In the past when I had a lease car the lease car would forward it to me, and this one is directly addressed to me.

Ah well, it is likely that I did it ;)

Worth checking if you know anyone in the know, as they say.
As I'm pretty sure that's been used a few times as a "get out"

If it's via the lease co. You're stuffed.
If it's direct and it's taken that long, there's a chance of fenegling your way out of it.
Harder to wiggle out with lease cars.

Indeed, they did get the request. And as I said, it was likely I did it anyway :)

Just hoping they'll send me back to school...

Operation freaking Stack....AGAIN!!

I came round the M25 last night and they were giving long delays your end, thankfully I was heading in the opposite direction, I suppose that is due to operation stack backing up?

Operation stack only came into force this morning. Delays are normal.

But every week now for five weeks?
There's a whole bunch of frogs and immigrants who need a slap.

Tell me about, what a change it was to have a clear run home, no real delays early evening :)

We've bailed them out, and kicked their arse's its a matter of historical record,
We can do it again, if they don't start to behave :D

We need to take the cane out of the cupboard and give them a damn good thrashing

Hark at Ms Whiplash!!! ;)

WAMT: I finally got round to cancelling my Vodafone contract and requesting the PAC code. The nice man offered me 3gig of data for less than I'm paying for half a gig.

That sounds nice? But last month as I bust my limit, they 'offered me' an extra half a gig for an extra £6:mad: The nice man on the phone suggested that I should have got in touch with them for a better deal:p I was just short of telling him to f*** right off :mooning:

Getting through the Ticketmaster rigmarole at of trying to order tickets for Foo Fighters 5th September as soon as they went on sale at 10:00 this morning to find it sold out. ;(

Immediately repeated the process and got tickets for the 6th of September, needless to say wasn't annoyed for long. ;)

I guess that at times like these this is a call that can feel like a long road to ruin and you'd be tempted to just let it die , then again these days if you hang on for everlong you might get something for nothing and want to learn to fly

Sharing the bus journey with the great unwashed

This got me to thinking. ....
I cannot remember the last time I was on a bus!
Trains yes....bus, no

I do my best to avoid all public transport, it's bad enough just having to share the roads with buses, let alone ride on them. It's got to be over 10yrs or possibly even more since I had the displeasure of being on a train or bus. Steam trains are ok though.

Finally get a good opportunity to take the new to me car out for a run and the battery is flat. I can only think it is the stupid kenwood stereo that is the cause of it as I dumped one out of my last car because it constantly flattened the battery when the car was left for more than a few days. Had to lock the car up by pushing all the buttons down. FFS!

Having parcels sent back to the post office and not put in the "safe" place...

South Mimms M25 accident and 3 lanes shut.
I heard that just in time to come around around the other way,
but what wasn't "reported" was the fact that there was about 20 miles queueing / crawling traffic due the an accident on the other side,
it was all on the hard shoulder , and coming to the accident on that side, was only about a 5 miles crawl.
We were doing about 20mph, as we approached the incident,
The woman in a mini, on my off side, and slightly in front , suddenly saw the car facing the wrong way on the opposite carriage, and hit the brakes for a better look.
The guy behind her was not impressed!

You mean to say your Chelsea Tractor doesn't have Satnav with Traffic :p

Wamt a Volkswagen dealer claiming that my front assist and automatic cruise control can't be repaired under warranty as it has to brake/intervene too many times in a short period of time. Wtf are they having a laugh? But then the service lady couldn't explain why and I better speak to the master mechanic. I better count to ten before I get there.

I can't afford fuel and a sat nav :p
What's a sat nav? I've always looked at a road map before hand then relied on road signs and instinct. Hardly ever gone wrong way, in over thirty years of motoring. If I'm really unsure of junctions, I look on google street view before I leave. :)
