I complained previously about an a**hole of a wannabe photographer I had the misfortune to share a shoot with, it’s here (thank you
@Box Brownie and

The context is that I’m a dance photographer, and have been for many years. And since moving to Scotland, I’ve had to diversify, as there’s not much dance work here.
I’ve been working with someone who runs several performance platforms per year. At the last one, her boyfriend photographed too, but his background seems to be alternative festivals (eg Beltane Fire Society), so his style seems to be glorified upskirting. There are horrible photos, and then there’s his. (And to make it worse, he claimed that my photos were his.)
As he prefers to invade performers’ personal space when shooting, we compromised and agreed that he could stay on the stage but further away from the performers, and I’d request extra stage time for him to do his usual stuff.
I hadn’t been booked to shoot the latest event, and the organiser didn’t respond to my messages checking in with her (and requested copies of the flyers, as she had used my photos), so I assumed she wasn’t interested.
The afternoon before the show, she phoned me to offer me the job, but she specifically only wanted me there for the show itself and not the dress (technical) rehearsals, and to cover stuff such as the audience and backstage stuff. Blah blah blah.
She said that I seemed to find it too “complicated” to shoot the techs, so they felt that this would be the best way to keep me involved, while ringfencing the techs for her partner.
I don’t know how to respond; it’s been several weeks now, and I still can’t think of any way to respond and still work with her in the future. And I’m still fuming about it….
