subway would do me but i dont really mind, looking forward to the day anyway.
what are people wanting to do this time, where do people want to go, what are people wanting pictures of
Chinese isn't on the menu per se anyway, depends what we do about splitting into little groups, I might just grab a burger from burger king or a pizza or whatever, depends what I feel like on Saturday.
Put me down for this. I can't see myself visiting York for any other reason this year so this is a great excuse to pop by. Whats the latest people are staying?
Those guidlines seem reasonable Matt - though as I said in another thread if someones thread is labeled as being from the York Meet then if someone doesnt want to look at them then they done have to. But putting them all in one thread might be a good idea.
I think I will probably be getting there earlyish as I am going to try and park in a car park in know near the middle(ish) of York, and I probably wont leave until early evening as I want to get some nice shots of things lit up etc.
I am going to have to work extra hard now to get some photos as good as Pete's :| either that or I might just follow him around
Just need to really try and get my nifty fifty sorted before this now! and maybe some kind of 70-200/300 - My wallet hurts already!
Definitely would like to see the trains and minster (illuminated aswell if possible) - no idea what the shambles is - pardon my ignorance.
Would basically like to see as much of the place as possible - only been there shopping and that usually means walking around in a trance not taking much in
I am going to aim to get there at about 10am and am going to try and park at the Nunnery Lane car park, which the little system on the website claims should have plenty of spaces at 10am on a Saturday!
Will probably end up on the park and ride so will have to decide which one we want to use, might end up driving round york to the other side to one that is open late.
Hmmmm most are open till 8pm (last bus out of city) however askham bar is midnight, but doesnt drop near the station but guess thats not too much of a problem.
As for getting my dad to drop us off, I dont know if he is working, and also depends on what time we are wanting out, dont want to have to bother him if it will be tea time, or late, or to stop him having a drink, guess we can see what happens, and can always ask him. Last bus home is a bit earlier I think but can check (and not cheap).
Dont mind paying ten paying ten pounds for the day, only a little more then getting the park and ride and is handy for town. Hmmmm not can I remember how to get there. I am sure I can, if not I know a man who can
got the PM thanks...we need to sort out stuff with kamion...I already have Matt's number from the last meet. Not sure what we're doing yet but we will phone or text to let you know where we are
Fingers crossed the bbc get it wrong again, what lens were you wanting? someone may have on you could borrow for some of the day if they arent using it.
I have ordered a nifty fifty (which seems to have delayed my one order which included a load of filters too) and the other lens I ordered was a Sigma 70-300 which I wasnt really expecting to get here in time.
The plan is Barry, Marianne and I are planning to be late. So don't wait around for us at the train station at 10am. We aim to arrive between 11am and 12pm.
