Another great episode, last night imho.....did anyone else get the feeling that Clarkson and Alastair Campbell REALLY don't get along??!

Next weeks show info, taken from the BBC website:

Sunday, 19:00 on BBC Two (Scotland only)

Synopsis: Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May test the Aston Martin Rapide, the Porsche Panamera Turbo and the Maserati Quattroporte as they attempt to find the world's greatest four-seat supercar.

After an early morning start in the City of London, the boys embark on a road trip across the south of England, stop off for a race around a closed-off business park, and end up undertaking a rather special chauffeuring job.

Meanwhile, Richard is on the test track in two very different muscle cars, the Chevrolet Camaro SS and Mercedes E63 AMG. And there's a double dose of celebrity as Harry Potter star Rupert Grint and F1 ace Rubens Barrichello take their turns as the Stars in a Reasonably Priced Car.

Scotland only?????????

Going to have to tune in to BBC Jockorama then!

Apparently there's a football game on the other side.......

:suspect::shrug::lol:

Now that is just odd! Didn't realise they had an Auzzie one, I just thought they showed the UK version. That's very strange that they use the same track and building though, just stick a few cones on it.

I thought the opposite, they seemed to quite enjoy a bit of friendly banter.

I'm pretty sure it's not the same track and buildings, it would be a right b****r having to ship them over there and back every week

I thought campbell looked a bit uncomfortable at times and seemed a little desperate to throw in a few weak one liners.

They've definitely had a slanging match in the press in the past.....and Clarkson really went for him a couple of times in his Sun column!

Clarkson even said at the end of the interview what a good sport AC was for going on the show....

....I think they both did a good job keeping each other in check!!

Looking again at the video it doesn't look as similar to the UK one as it did the first time...:lol:

Having said that it wouldn't be that much of a stretch of the imagination. Just look at Total wipeout. All the company needed to do was ship the presenters over for a couple of weeks. Do the track and shed bits and then go back to Oz to do the road tests. :p

best one for a long time tonight.........

made the correct choice and watched TG then flicked over to BBC1 for some football game........

I must admit I was shouting at the TV with "set-up fake wedding!!!".............

that Porsche is fairly fugly but I will swap my punto for it, no questions asked.........

At the wedding where was the Tog??

I think it was a real wedding but I think all the lateness and other things were pre-arranged. Prolly got a nice lump of cash towards the wedding for the trouble.

Nice cars, well maybe not the porka. :gag:

given that the lateness / etc prearranged, and am sure BBC/TG paid for the wedding...... where were they best part of 4 yrs ago..........:shrug::shrug::shrug: I'd have had hamster drive me to my wedding..... maybe.

Yep I didn't spot a wedding togger either.......... still not convinced wasn't staged - few guests......... no tog....... church scene looked staged......

but in my heart of hearts I would love to think "sorry, we were late, picking you up, you see, this disused airfield up the road....................."

There was a photographer. When James let the bride out of the car, there was one taking shots with the car and church in the background.

I'd like to think it wasn't staged.. but it doesn't really bother me either way.

: I'd have had hamster drive me to my wedding..... maybe.

...... this disused airfield up the road....................."

Not a good combo, esp if you add a jetcar.....:p

The wedding scene was filmed in and around cheltenham, and went through the village i used to live in 3 times. The airfield was Kemble, probably 40 minutes away.

I thought it was a great episode.....very good series so far!! :)

Next episode sounds a belter.....

Taken from the BBC website:

Sunday, 20:00 on BBC Two (except Northern Ireland (Analogue), Wales (Analogue)

Synopsis: Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May attempt to build cool and interesting motorhomes before setting off for a bank holiday weekend in the West Country to see how each of their creations performs in the real world.

Meanwhile, Jeremy is also at the test track to test the new Audi R8 V10 Spyder against the latest version of Porsche's enduring 911 Turbo cabriolet. Plus, another leading celebrity takes their turn as the star in the brand new Reasonably Priced Car.

"Cool and interesting" motorhomes sounds a right laugh!

The motorhomes are featured in the advert they had on TV before the series started.

this episode was fantastic ! :D . loads of good consumer advices etc ! :D the motorhomes were epic. one of the best episodes ever. as good as rocket robin.

I loved that episode! We stay at that campsite - hope it's not overrun now by topgear fanatics :(

Agreed, the motorhome sketch was good, but nothing will beat the caravaning sketch

Normally I enjoy TG but I thought the motorhome one was the most pointless & dangerous episode I've seen - can't believe Clarkson was allowed to use the motorway with that potential deathtrap, I'm all for a laugh but sometimes the programme just gets a bit too irresponsible!! No wonder the Govt is considering reducing the licence, not the best way I've seen my money spent:nono:

What, you don't think measures were put in place? Could it be that the other cars were part of it? Do you really think they would have been allowed to drive those things on the open road? Or could it have been set up? ;)

Next weeks episode, once again, taken from the BBC website:

Sunday, 20:00 on BBC Two (except Northern Ireland (Analogue), Wales (Analogue))

Richard Hammond finds out if Volkswagen has improved its second generation Touareg 4x4 by taking it to Sweden for a race against some hardcore snowmobilers. James May is in Germany attempting to break his personal speed record in a brand new, even more powerful version of the amazing Bugatti Veyron. In the year that legendary F1 star Ayrton Senna would have turned 50, Jeremy Clarkson asks why he's still considered the best driver of his generation.

Senna segment should be good!

"even more powerful version of the amazing Bugatti Veyron..."

yep I imagine there must be several instances when 1001 BHP and 254mph just isn't enough.......:thinking:

I've asked someone who would have been in the know had there been any road closures or other special measures and there were none.

Pretty sure that May's Lotus was the only one that was really road legal, although even that probably had bits that were too sharp that could be contacted.

The cars would all have had to pass a SVA test to be allowed to be driven on the road, do you really think the BBC would have highly paid presenters driving in illegal cars on public roads

I would like to think not but I can't see any of those creations passing an SVA test in the state they were in. Look at most kit cars a couple of days after their SVA inspection - all those thread protectors seem to "fall off", sharper radii on some fittings, some fittings removed for aesthetic reasons.

Quite simply, those things (at least clarkson's) were dangerous and shouldn't have been on the public highway. JC was very lucky his didn't get blown over on the road (although I suspect the blowover during the night may have involved some pushing from the production team) - someone could have been hurt or even killed.

As these challenges are always well planned and scripted, I'd hazzard a guess everything is made safe for when they are on the road, then made to appear unsafe for the off road shots.

:agree:

If you cast your mind back to Clarkson's Fiat Panda limo, they had to chop a fair chunk out of it's length before it would pass the SVA
