You had already posted earlier on page 1 of this thread that you knew car dealers weren't open due to lockdown.

Because car sales are considered non essential, the only way you can buy a car, new or second hand from a dealership is online. You can then go and collect the car or the dealership delivers it for you.
You aren't allowed to go to dealerships to view cars or have test drives. It is solely click and collect or click and delivery. Payment or deposit paid and paperwork signed online (email) only. All that changes hands is the keys.

It is you and the dealer in question that fails to understand.
The lockdown rules for second hand dealerships is exactly the same as for new car dealerships. You select the car you are interested in. The only viewing available before you buy is if the dealership offers a video online.
Otherwise it would be no different to a normal purchase.
Try to wriggle out of it as much as you like, but you and the dealership were in the wrong.

Otherwise it would be no different to a normal purchase.

That is the only option at the moment. It's not really any different to the companies like Cinch as advertised on the TV. You look online, select and pay for the car you want, except they deliver the car to you. Dealers are supposed to be shut at the moment as car sales are non essential, blind sales are the only way of getting around it.

People are allowed to travel to take exercise. Lockdown rules don't state where that exercise has to take place other than outdoors. I didn't reenter the building, nor did I meet up with anyone from the other shift. I was on private land, so quite easily to socially distance from everyone. I could have just as easily sat in my car in the car park for a couple of hours and waited for the team to arrive.

You are only allowed to look at the vehicle online, whether it is photos or a video. You pay your money online, all paperwork is signed online.
You then go to the dealer, take the keys, and drive away, no second look at the vehicle to make sure it is as advertised. It is just a handover of the keys any paperwork can be left in the vehicle and you drive away. That is it. How can you not understand that.
Quite easy to do with new cars.
Doesn't sit comfortably as a buying concept for 2nd hand cars which will be a reason why 2nd hand car sales have also taken a dive over the last few months.

So, for the last time, when collecting, you are allowed to walk around the car to make sure that everything is ok before driving it away, just the same as if you have the car delivered, you can check that everything is ok before whoever delivers it leaves. This is basic consumer rights and was not affected by Covid regulations.

Private land is irrelevant....you visited a track to take photographs.
