I really don't understand why a fact based post is being met with an emotional, rather than a fact based, response.
Because people love outrage on the internet.
I really don't understand why a fact based post is being met with an emotional, rather than a fact based, response.
Maybe you need to reread those responses and reflect on what they may be communicating?
Especially if you are G o d and, according to popular accounts, are rather keen on plagues, floods etc.
Because people love outrage on the internet.

They seem to be communicating a level of emotional hyperventilation.
I understand that response just as I understand the points being responded to.
I would invite you to re-read those points and reflect on how you might rationally respond to them.
Fortunately and unfortunately, some infected people have no symptoms at all.
Edit: Here, in microcosm, is what you'd have to do to ensure everyone was clear:

I have no idea what "the mods" have got to do with it, unless you're seeking to close down discussion from authority.
I cast no net, I say as I see.
I do not see any mention of anyone having no problem with people dying.
Why don't you just answer his points rather than argue with me? There's no need to answer that, obviously.
Rationally, OK.They seem to be communicating a level of emotional hyperventilation.

ensure the NHS doesn’t collapse under the weight of this,
Personally, I think this is the main issue in this country.
ou have NO idea,
I couldn’t agree more, and it’s a pity that the “act of god” phrase is still used particularly since, as you say, people didn’t see them as random chance events but caused or avoided by some action of theirsMy conclusion these days is that people saw terrible things happen and tried to rationalise them so they had purpose and meaning. City wiped out by plague - they were terrible there. Now it might be that someone had caught an STD from an animal and then passed it all around the town afterwards, so that was a kind of natural 'judgement' on their behaviour, but it might have also just been coincidence.
So enlighten me.
No sh!t Sherlock....of course it is.....Boris has told us that every night.Personally, I think this is the main issue in this country.
Let's put it this way, I know people who have won the lottery. That don't look so clever now.
My comment that this does not look so clever now is based on the fact that on Jan 26th when it was written we had no known cases so to answer your points in this post.Really, how many people do we have in the UK, how many have got it, how many have died. You have more chance of winning the lottery. Stop being a pussy.
Where does it say I have no problem with mass deaths? My Dad's 90, will he survive this, who knows, do you think I don't care, don't be a pillock.Im too tired of trying to rationally address the people who have no problem with tens of thousands of potential deaths due to this virus. :-(
Where is it daft? Where's it wrong? All the numbers are in the public domain, 102 out of 66Million, even 250K out of 66Million is only a small percentage. This is a really daft post (I’m being polite), I suggest you re-read it and consider deleting it![]()
How many of those that have so far died in the UK were fit and healthy before they caught CV, according to reports I have read, NONE.My comment that this does not look so clever now is based on the fact that on Jan 26th when it was written we had no known cases so to answer your points in this post.
People in UK about 68000000 how many have got it answer for then and now is we have no idea we have not yet tested 1% of the population. How many have died, then 0 now 100+. Predictions are for 80% infection at worse case about 54million. A lot of these the young and fit amongst us could be asymptomatic so while having no obvious signs can spread the disease. At the time you wrote that post we were as a nation activly allow travellers to enter the UK from infected areas and worse than that bringing known infected people into the UK, probably because people had your attitude that seems to be that we are British and immune from the Chinese problem.........big mistake.
Your follow up was crass because while possible factual used words like only 250000 deaths and seemed to be suggesting that as it was only aged and infirm that die (not correct) then it is not much of a problem.
So not clever and crass
French TV reporting that Italy has extended the lockdown for another two weeks.....I suspect that we'll be doing the same when the current period gets close to expirey.I agree Asha.....I suspect that 15 days was chosen as maximum term that could be tolerated in the initial announcement and an extension is inevitable (at least for the serious risk categories)
It's not just going to be about the actual deaths though.Where is it daft? Where's it wrong? All the numbers are in the public domain, 102 out of 66Million, even 250K out of 66Million is only a small percentage.
There isn't a lockdown.....yet.Yesterday morning the roads were pretty deserted.
Yesterday evening (7ish) the traffic was back to normal.
Took wife to hospital for op at 7 this morning and traffic as usual.
Not too much sign of a lockdown .
if you can’t see it,, it’s hard to explain but when your comments are in the same class as Elon Musk, perhaps you should worry. Eg :Where is it daft? Where's it wrong? All the numbers are in the public domain, 102 out of 66Million, even 250K out of 66Million is only a small percentage.

I agree.I think London might well be in Lockdown by this weekend, today I`m off to have Susie`s nails clipped then over to Mum`s. As I will be telling her that very very soon I won`t be able to come over as I will be staying in for my own safety, she can`t seem to understand having to stay in and says that`s just silly so it will be a hard day today.

Cath has her endoscopy today, assuming they don't cancel at the last moment.
Could be the result a car theives version of panic buying.Mrs F posted this on Facebook this morning as she had to get the train into London. This was the station car park at 8am, people are usually struggling to get a space by this time. Apparently, half the tube stations are shut.

Where have I said I have no problem in this thread with mass deaths.then you need to reread, not sure how many times I need to say it.
