Done a quick shot with my 3.5m rig, it's in my rig thread in Transport Feedback.

The car rig cups are the same price but don't have the adaptor to connect to the super clamps. I'm sure I can buy or get manufactured something to fix that
Awesome shot guys! Found your photos from this thread while searching for rig-shots 'n DIY RIGs and here I am - registered only for the purpose of sayin' how tremendous work you guys do!
I'm at the stage of improving my DIY RIG, but I'm hoping to publish some of my rig-shots tomorrow since the weather is getting better.
great to see more people getting involvedlookin forward to seeing your shots! be sure to share them!!
They'll always be bounce in a circular tube, it's not that strong of a shape.
I really can't believe, that such a long boom with suction cups placed so close to each other, does not cause bouncingIve been at it again at the weekend![]()
. Especially, that I saw your video on YT how you do your RIG-shots... That's awesome! So what you suggest is buying a square or rectangular profile? I read somewhere that there's no difference, however while searching for some RIG pictures I've found many square-profile RIGsThey'll always be bounce in a circular tube, it's not that strong of a shape.

You're right - that's what you said on the videoDont get me wrong there is some bounce, there will always be some bounce with a camera on the end of the pole. i make sure its steady before the car moved and 99% of the time i hold the boom anyway as i walk along.
I also watched this one, but no, I was referring to the ones with silver Porsche

Geez... :bang:. My mistake, I confused you guys, and God only knows why :bonk:. Anyway, I was referring to your photo of Ford Focus and a really long boom beforeah those are GFWilliams photo's / videos not me.
My video is the one i linked above

Just thinking: I use these clasps to attach a boom to suction cups - maybe removing there rubber elements would reduce bouncing as well? Even though I twisted screws really hard, these rubbers can transfer the shaking.

Yeap, you're right, but my DIY amateur-set was constructed only to see if I can manage to do some RIG-shots which I prefer over a panning-from-another-car shots. So these elements are not as good as designed for photography ones.I wish my stuff was at his level...one day.
Im yet to post the final photo of the RS on here.
I would look to invest in some decent suction cups and some superclamps, either Manfrotto F1000 or F1100 cups.
as those connectors look strong i wouldnt trust them compared to superclamps
F1100 Cups

RIG shots also require me to buy some wider angle lenses, since my KIT 18-55 on crop is not satisfactory...
Anyway, it is worth investing in this equipment you've linked above.
BTW. Love this Focus shot.
Rome was not built in a day, so I'll boy appropriate items when I gather the proper sumsThanks, its my best so far.
yes i would invest as my F1100 cups can cope with my rig quite comfortably, im looking at getting some ball joints for more flexability
Just a quick question to all, how are people ensuring suction cups don't mark the paintwork?
Make sure they and the paint work are clean, apply some window clean to ensure they fix properly,........?
i'll be looking into PL inscurance so what has everybody else got? supplier? etc.
saw this kit at the focus on imaging yesterday, shame the bar doesnt come longer than they can provide :-(
So that's what I meant few posts ago - the boom looks really stiff & steady on the photo you've posted.another BTS shot, this time with me in it![]()
