Chelsea continue to entertain in the wrong ways. Well done Leicester.

Leicester keep on keepin on. And Vardy keeps on scoring.

Thought Chel$ki may have scraped a point when they got a goal back, but it just seems to go on for them.  Keep on waiting for them to click into gear, but.... They need to start playing soon though, because they are in a relegation fight in the position they are this far into the season.

Another great result for Bournemouth. :) I like the way they play.

Two great results for Newcastle.

Everton v Leicester could be the game of the weekend. :)

I think the game of the weekend could be the Chelsea v Sunderland six pointer. Will Big Sam revert to 19th Century tactics to thwart Mourhinho again?

It's the Premier League game I'll keep an eye on - if Sunderland win I'm not sure if he will stay. His relationship with the team appears gone.

I've not been a big fan of the Premier League in recent years, but so far this year it's hard to argue against. Would love Leicester to get a top 4 spot.

The EPL has been fantastic this year and just proves that with judicious scouting it's possible to find hidden gems even now.

Mourinho's been sacked. Can't say it's entirely a surprise. Any suggestions for who will replace him? Or where he'll go next? (Man Utd?)

Really want Wenger to win the title now!

Hiddink will replace him til the end of the season, then they'll go after Pep.
Who knows where Moaner will end up? He might not want another PL job straight away after such humiliation, but if Man Utd comes up I think his ego would make him take it.

I used to like Jose, but his recent behaviour has shown him up to be an arrogant wee bully. The way he treated that physio/doctor was just pathetic

I didn't think they would actually sack him, but the position they are in, many other managers would already have been out the door. I'll be glad to see that back of him. A person with little class imho. I have little time for Wenger, but well done for him in his press conference for not putting the boot into Moaninho, by saying the Chel$ki were not in a relegation fight.

Guardiola would be an idiot to go to Chel$ki, and so would Simone too. Guardiola seems to be a chap who likes stability, and I don't think he would get that there. Why go to a club that has had 9 managers (including caretaker managers) in the last 8 years. Win the FA Cup, don't have a good start to the next season, bye bye. Win the Champions League, don't have a good start to the next season, ciao. Win the League, don't have a good start to the next season, adios. I know the lifespan of a manager in the job is getting less and less, but if success doesn't buy you some time, then why go somewhere where you have to win year after year or you'll lose your job. Chel$ki prove that while success may sustainable with that behaviour, a manager's tenure is not.

As for him going to Utd, they would be mad to take him imho. He is trouble waiting to happen. There would probably be an initial boost, but that would be for 3-4 years if his history shows anything. And how much of a boost would be debatable, as Utd need a lot of money spent, and they would probably lose Mata straight away.

It will be interesting to see how the players will perform from now on, and whether their problems were/are just the manager. ;)

I suspect sadly they will kick on now. I think they made the right decision, he'd clearly lost the team and just lost it generally, which is why I wanted him to stay - it has provided much entertainment this season!

Can't see Man Utd getting rid of LVG, and City clearly want Pep so expect they will have him at the end of the season. Whoever they get will have no CL next year, so harder to find someone like that and harder to get players in. That said they have a great squad to work with if you can get them playing.

I hope they appoint Terry - he thinks he's the boss!

Leicester to be top at Christmas. Same time last year they were rock bottom, what a turnaround.

I saw part of the Louis Van Gaal post match press conference, and it looked like a bit of the confidence and fight had gone out of him. A shadow of the confident, loud chap from the start of the season. He may be another about to lose his job, with the Moaninho shadow now appeared.

Wenger out!

You watch. Will go 4 points clear in Jan so wenger will not buy anyone. Then will have loss of form and injuries to defensive players and then lose out.

Anyone else think bellerin is rubbish?

It's incredibly depressing to hear that all the faltering rich clubs are planning to raid Leicester during the January transfer window. Vardy to Chelsea, Mahrez to Arsenal or Spurs or Man United or anywhere. And whilst Leicester might say they don't want to sell and don't need to sell, the vast amounts of money the rich clubs can dangle in front of players would surely be unsettling. Treble your salary and have a multi million signing on bonus? Who could say no to that?

The January transfer window has to be abolished, and the sooner the better. It's just inviting the rich clubs to have another go if they screwed up the first half of the season. And if either Mahrez or Vardy goes, it will be the final proof that small clubs can never win anything these days.

(Disclosure: Life long Manchester United fan. Obviously we could make Mahrez an offer he couldn't refuse. But I really hope we don't.)

but a transfer window can also be a lifeline for smaller clubs so it could affect them if abolished. Does it really matter if either go in Jan rather than July? Don't know why we need Mahrez, looked excellent but assuming we play Coquelin and Ramsey in the middle, we have Ozil, Sachez and Theo behind Giroud. Would rather we looked a someone like Kante more than Mahrez.

I'm all for the money to trickle down, but just like the clubs should buy the players they think they need for the whole season, all clubs should be financially sound from at least Summer to Summer, when the main transfer activity happens. Liverpool have bought Suarez and Coutinho in the winter transfer window's, but I don't think it should be allowed, as has been said, it favours the bigger teams buying themselves out of any problems they may be in.

There is a squad of 25 players, plus youth players to choose from. Chel$ki have that, and 30+ players on loan, and they may still go out and buy more.  Maybe then youth players would actually get a chance in some of these teams. At least Klopp has expressed the opinion that he doesn't want too many players out on loan, which is a good sign imho. :)

As for Arsenal buying Mahrez, I hope he doesn't move, but can Arsenal rely on Ramsey, Ozil and Sanchez to stay fit? Ramsey is a World class player, if he stays fit, as he showed a few years ago, but has only showed sporadically since. Ozil finally seems to be justifying the money they spent on him, but again, needs to stay fit, and keep the form he has. Sanchez hit the ground running, and has only been stopped by injury. But Walcott blows hot and cold, and Oxlade-Chamberlain hasn't lived up to his potential imho. Mahrez is not only scoring goals, but he's making goals too. He could be the little bit needed to push Arsenal over the line. But I hope Leicester don't sell anyone, as if they stay together they have their best chance of finishing in the top four. Fingers crossed for them. It would be amazing if they won it.

Personally I'd like to see the windows out the window. Why can't a club just buy a player as and when rather than this madness of everyone trying to sign players in the last 20 minutes before it shuts.

Not sure that I would change too much except to make a ruling that you can only change a manager during the Summer window (maybe allow a two week start before the transfer window opens for real). Obviously this would be subject to proven medical grounds or gross misconduct.

If I were Mahrez or Vardy I'd stay put until the summer - more clubs to choose from then and going to Chelsea/Man Utd won't deliver any silverware (and many a good player never won a league title so these chances should not be spurned).

Mmm, buying a player in January who's had half a good season in the EPL. Now where have I seen that go wrong...

Better a big fish in a small club...

So they're going to swap one defensive coach for another?
Mourhino has form for winning trophies in his first 2 years and you can't say Man Utd's defence doesn't need help. The midfield were woeful yesterday, giving up as soon as the ball went past them, very little tracking back

Not the point I was making though.

Chelsea started this game with no striker and no striker on the bench. Seems a bit of a shambles for such a big club

For all the money they have spent, and for all the players they have on their books, (on loan) it does look a bit poor. Only three strikers. :$ When Costa does something stupid it can have a big affect on the team.

Doesn't look good for Falcao if they would rather go without a striker than pick him, or even have him on the bench. o_O Now there is a reputation that has seen a dramatic change in the last few years.

Bamford has terminated his loan at Palace to go back to Chelsea. Probably fancies his chances of getting a game!

Has this thread dried up for a reason ?

I missed the Arsenal match today as my Niece had my tickets. Believe it or not, at the beginning of the season I thought this would be an easy game so was happy to give her & her lad my tickets.... Cracking game though....

Was pretty disgusted by Arsenal, waving cards when fouled, if they had put as much effort into beating Leicester as moaning like that and to the ref, we would have won a lot easier. Don't like to see that at all.

How? I was disgusted on Leicester cheating and fouling recklessly.

Didn't see 1st half, but saw the 2nd and the highlights. I don't like this waving the card in the air from anyone. They fouled... so do all teams, and they were punished with a red (that you could argue was a little soft for 1st booking) and their silly foul at the end cost them the draw.

That's why we was waving cards because they deserved a few!
